Whew! Today's WIP has been finding time to be on the computer! after 1:30 pm and I am finally finding time.
WIP Wednesday, where in conjunction with Every Day Crochet we share our works in progress. I hope you will click the button at the end of my post to join in on the fun and list your own post....or check out what others are up to.
Remember, your WIP don't have to be crafts, they can be virtually anything.
I tried to get busy this last week on things. I didn't get done all I wanted, but I did do a lot!
I am on my quest to fill this jar with dish scrubbies to be ready for the monster garage sale in March. Selling some along the way, as I have been doing is a major plus!
I worked on the hot pads that I am making for Christmas gifts. I found that I don't have enough of the insulbrite material for the insides to finish what I need....and I will have to also take the covers off the other cushions on the old futon as I didn't have enough from one set for my backings.
I got busy and thought I would get that strip quilt top completed before sewing club at church next week. What I found is that I shorted myself 2 of the 12 inch squares....and even if I hadn't I didn't bring home enough of the longer strips to make them anyway. So, the first thing I will work on next week is making the other 2 squares and completing the top.
Other things that I did was to complete the order that included the 5 fabric bags. I then took photos of the bags and went ahead and put them into my etsy store. My etsy store is and will always be a work in progress as I hope to continue to build it up. I got my first order!! It's for one of the fabric bags. I got the material cut and ironed for the bag. Heading in next to get it sewn. I like to get my orders out ASAP.
The holiday is quickly approaching. I did get our tree put up, and decorated. I got out some of my stash of gifts to start wrapping....that's as far as that got time wise. I am being pulled away from home most all day each day (yes, causing me extreme anxiety too! )
Here is a photo of our little tree. I bought most all the decorations from our Christmas sale at church. We bought the tree for $19.99 on sale at Walgreens. Please excuse all the junk around it. We have a very small living room and I had to squeeze the tree in a corner in front of the movie shelf.
Welcome to WIP Wednesday hosted by Every Day Crochet!
To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; she leaves each WIP up until the following week. Click the button at the bottom of my post and copy the code below Rosie's picture and paste it into your blog post so that others can follow too, and see the rest of the projects that are posted.
Have fun!
This past week I got out the sewing machine and my 2 inch squares that were already cut and experimented with making hot pads that I want to give out for Christmas. I found the black lining that I wanted to use, to not be heat resistant.....oops! I made another one using left over t-shirt on the back. It looks pretty good, and I do end up with t-shirt backs after I cut the rounds of shirts making my rugs. I only completed 2 pot holders. I am thinking now I want to try the cushions covers from the old futon for the backs....will check their heat resistance first.
I completed the red, white, and blue toothbrush rug made with t-shirts. I found a sheet in my closet that I had previously cut out a small set of curtains from, so I am back now working on the other rug.
I just have to finish the fringe on one side of the prayer shawl and then it's finally done!
I am currently reading The Capablanca Variation by Douglas Quinn. It was sent to be by the author to read and review. Be on the look out as I will also be giving away my copy in a blog giveaway with my review.
Last but not least, I am getting an etsy shop going finally! I only have a few things in right now, but am working on moving the crafts I have on blujay over. I also need to work on my store design and such as well. I hope you will check it out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/marsha32
Welcome to WIP Wednesday, hosted by Everyday Crochet. Please click the button at the bottom on my post to post your own to her linky, or to click over and see what others have as WIP's.(work in progress)
Your WIP doesn't have to be craft related, it can be a book you are writing, landscaping you are doing, re-modeling, or anything. Jump in and join the fun. The linky stays up for a full week.
My first attempt at the toothbrush rug is bowing up. I looked up how to online and found that I was putting my 2 extra stitches in the wrong places. I will finish the one below and it will become a cushion for my chair.
I started on another toothbrush rug, this time made with t-shirts I had cut when I went through my t-shirt purse stage. The strips are a little thin, so next time I will make them wider. It is also bowing some, but not too bad. I have a thought....do you think that making doll or Barbie rugs would be marketable? I could make them about the same size, or a little smaller than what I have completed so far in the photo below.
I've done a little more work on the prayer shawl, still not even ready to switch to my 2nd color. It will be a WIP for some time.
I didn't get anything more done on my strip quilt, but truly in hopes of getting the back on it this week. I am on the lookout for zippers to finish up the strip quilt pillows I pictured a few weeks ago.

Speaking of coupons, if you missed my post yesterday, here are a couple of good printable coupons:

I got in my first free item from Listia free auctions!! It's 3 packages of bias tape to use in my quilting. I have also won 5 other auctions so far for smaller toys that will be added in to totes I am giving my grandchildren for their birthdays.

Have a great weekend!!

Good Morning! It's Good Friday, and I do believe it's going to be a great Friday.
We had lots of rain and wind last night. So much rain that the driveway is flooded. Now they say skies will stay clear until Easter Sunday. If it's going to rain on Sunday I hope it waits until evening like it did last night.
Yesterday was a busy day, today will be a busy day...so will Saturday and Sunday. It's all good, as I've smoked my last cigarette and I am bound and determined to keep it that way!
I've done dishes this morning, put pinto beans and seasoning in the crockpot to freeze portions for refried beans, and I have the eggs boiled for the kids to dye later.
Lots of housework to be done, things to do on the computer, crafts to get completed to mail to customers, the list goes on and on.
I did a bunch of posting on gather yesterday here and there. I am going to direct you to my post home page if you are interested. I wrote about my shopping, Jasmine's vegetarian meal, our walk and a couple of days ago about my Walgreens shopping. Marsha's Gather posts home page
No school for the kids today and I can hear from upstairs that they are already driving my mother insane....if they come down here they know they have to help me pick up their toys...they tend to avoid being down here when they know they have to clean up LOL I am going to get busy now on getting in clean...
Here's to a great start to your Easter weekend!
Marsha
Good Morning!
Looks like I have to take my mom back to her chiropractor this morning, he didn't adjust her right. I also have to take my granddaughter for shots this afternoon since my daughter can't do the needles.
I found something cool yesterday! It's called greenopolis.com You earn points towards rewards while you learn about going green. Share in blogs, recycle, play games and so much more to earn those points.
I'm sitting here this morning while I work online finishing up the rest of the magnetic bracelets to get them listed on blujay. I need to keep busy on the crafts and getting them listed in hopes of selling some things. It's going to take a lot of sales to get that motor fixed in the van.
Yesterdays squidoo lens to update was my book review lens on The Vision Board. I updated to add the list of all my book review lenses and added follow me on twitter as well. The Vision Board Book Review
Off to see if my mother is ready to go. Have a great start to your weekend!
Marsha
Good Morning.
My daughter didn't show up to take Allen to school. I took the van, which was not smart. I put water in it before leaving, which all of it was out by the time I got back home....or well, the rest of it spewed out in to the driveway. The whole motor is covered with anti-freeze.
No one picked me up from work yesterday so I ended up walking home. I don't have a ride to work tomorrow so I do plan on taking the van as the high is only 40! Just say a prayer that I make it there and back.
Regardless of the money, I think it's time for me to put in my 2 week notice to quit. I'm not going to make enough to get another vehicle anyway and I can't expect someone to take me and pick me up each day....and they aren't reliable to do so anyway. I will not walk to work in winter! That measly $8.56 an hour I get is just not worth it and I only work 3 hours a day, 4 days a week on a full Headstart week.
I've been working daily on crafts and trying to list something each day that I can. I have enough supplies on hand right now to do several crafts too.
I am waiting on a reply back from the owner of homeschoolbuy to see if he is going to truly fix the glitch in the auctions. If he doesn't soon then I am moving all those books over to blujay as well.
I'm paying attention and doing more of the survey sites. And, I did get in on the Ghiradelli chocolate with shespeaks!!
I did decide for sure to cancel my paid membership with winster. Since I can't earn enough points in a month to cover the $5 then I just can't do it. It will take some pressure off anyway and free up time. I can play as a free player when I have the extra time in the day and still eventually earn enough points.
I've been pretty much keeping up with cutting and sorting my coupons. This will help a lot on saving money.
I guess I will quit going on for today, only an hour left now before I have to get off to work. I will be safe today and walk since the weather is decent.
Have the best day that you can!
Marsha
Good Morning.
My son couldn't get the hood open on my van yesterday to see what the problem is. We have rides coming to get the 8 of us to church this morning. It's Allen's first communion today and pastor wanted to make sure none of us missed it.
I finished up the order of dish scrubbies yesterday. Today I am going to mess around and see if I can make some crocheted hair scrunchies. These will make nice gifts for the girls on my Christmas list and if they turn out nice will be a new addition to the crafts that I sell.
I cashed out at spotwinner yesterday for $10 amazon. It's a fun site and I look forward to starting over again on points to cash out again. All amazon I earn is going to save to buy a laptop.
I have my weekly mail call post on gather to share with you all today. Mail Call! Week of November 9
I also did build another squidoo lens. This one is on Cello In the Box. It's a business that I sell for. Cello In a Box
Time to get kids up and ready for church, so until tomorrow, I will you the most blessed day.
