WIP Wednesday
Time for Work in Progress Wednesday! I feel like I did pretty well around a busy schedule.
If you would like to participate in WIP Wednesday, or check out what others are doing, please click the button at the bottom of my post.
To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; she leaves each WIP up until the following week.
I've completed the sewing on the top of my strip quilt. I've also updated my squidoo lens How To Make a Strip Quilt
This is how far I've gotten on the prayer shawl. They are always a slow process for me. Some asked for more information on the project. Here is the website the lady at my church used, including the pattern. I'm not following the pattern as I am going lengthwise. Also I am doing a row of single crochet, row of double crochet, row of single crochet, then starting over. We were told the shawls are crocheted in a pattern of 3 to represent God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. http://www.shawlministry.com/instructions.html
And finally....I've waited a month to learn how to make a toothbrush rug. Wouldn't you know it, I woke up sick to my stomach yesterday morning :( Our sewing club meets once a month, the second Tuesday from 10 am -3 pm. We usually make quilts that we then send to the Good Samaritan home and to the Domestic Violence Center. Yesterday was special, as one of the lady's showed us how to make rugs with toothbrushes. After noon I was feeling a bit better, so I headed over just long enough to learn how to make them.
The first photo, I took when I got home...what I had gotten done while I was there. The second photo shows what I added on last night, changing colors.
These take a lot more material than you can imagine, but are really neat and a lot of fun.
I am hoping that next Wednesday I can tell you the strip quilt is complete, and also that the rug is complete and that I've started on another one :)
Have a great week!
