Bright Beginnings is available in many formulas including: Milk Based Organic, Premium, Soy Based, and Gentle. You can choose to buy individual cans, or 6 packs.

Product information---

Premium:

Provides Triple Benefits for your baby:

  1. Brain & Eye:  Fortified with DHA & ARA, nutrients found in breast milk to support brain and eye development
  2. Immune support:  Prebiotics, like those in breast milk, to support a healthy immune system
  3. Growth & Development:  All the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals your baby needs for excellent growth and development during the first year

Bright Beginnings Premium is nutritionally equivalent to the big national brand formulas – it’s just priced better to fit your family’s budget.  Premium nutrition, without the premium price!

Gentle:

If you have a fussy eater or an infant with gas, Bright Beginnings Gentle formula may be the answer. With partially broken down whey protein and ¼ the lactose of a standard milk-based formula, Bright Beginnings Gentle can help with feeding issues such as fussiness and gas.

Like breast milk, Bright Beginnings Gentle contains nutrients for immune health and DHA and ARA for brain and eye development.  It provides complete infant nutrition comparable to Enfamil Gentlease Lipil – at a significant savings.  Premium nutrition, without the premium price!

Ask your pediatrician about Bright Beginnings Gentle infant formula.

For 0-12 months.

Soy:

Bright Beginnings Soy is an excellent alternative to milk-based formulas for babies with fussiness, gas, or diarrhea due to cow’s milk protein allergy or lactose intolerance.  Like all Bright Beginnings formulas, it contains:

  • DHA and ARA, nutrients found in breast milk for brain and eye development
  • Nucleotides and choline, like breast milk
  • All the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals your baby needs for excellent growth and development during the first year

Compare Bright Beginnings Soy to Isomil or ProSobee.  You’ll find they are nutritionally the same.  Then compare the price.  Bright Beginnings is premium nutrition without the premium price.

Ask your pediatrician about Bright Beginnings Soy infant formula.

For 0-12 months.

Organic:

  • Bright Beginnings Milk Based Organic Infant Formula

Looking for nutrition like breast milk in an affordable organic infant formula?  Bright Beginnings Organic is a smart choice.  It follows all organic standards. That means:

    • No pesticides
    • No added growth hormones
    • No antibiotics

Only organic-quality milk is used for Bright Beginnings. And its DHA and ARA, the nutrients found in breast milk that support eye and brain development, come from natural vegetarian sources.

Bright Beginnings Organic infant formula is certified organic according to USDA regulations as well as Quality Assurance International (QAI).  It’s premium nutrition, without the premium price!

Yanni Truth of Touch Album Review

This is Yanni's first instrumental release of original compositions in over eight years and is a return to the genre Yanni helped create and advance.
“I work the rhythms in this album,” explains Yanni about the new material. “There is a beautiful complexity in these rhythms, a new sound design. I think the melodic content is very strong and very memorable. I was having fun with this album and that’s going to become apparent.”
On March 22, Yanni launched a 40-date tour of the US. The tour will take him through theaters in major cities across the US including Radio City Music Hall in NYC and the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Click HERE to see the complete list of tour dates and destinations.

 Tracks include:
1.  Truth of Touch
2.  Echo of a Dream
3.  Seasons
4.  Voyage
5.  Flash of Color
6.  Vertigo
7.  Nine
8.  Can't Wait
9.  Guilty Pleasure
10.  O Luce Che Brilla Nell Obscurita
11.  I'm So
12.  Long Way Home
13.  Yanni & Arturo
14.  Mist of a Kiss
15.  Secret

This is not my genre of music, but I soon found that I can learn to appreciate it!  This album to me is one you will listen to when you just want to sit and relax.  I found it to be very calming.
It would also be appropiate to play in the background while have a dinner party.
My favorite songs on the album are Vertigo, Can't Wait, and I'm So.  Vertigo and I'm So are more upbeat, and closer to what I enjoy listening to on a regular basis.   Can't Wait is a song on the album that does have words.  Words of a great love song.

You can visit Yanni's official website HERE.

How Dare You Say How Dare Me!--Autobiography of Pat Cooper--Review

An Autobiography of a Life in Comedy--Pat Cooper  How Dare You Say How Dare Me!
As told to Rich Herschlag and Steve Garrin with a foreward by Jerry Lewis.

ISBN 978-0-7570-0363-9
Square One Publishers

Information taken from the promotional paper sent to me with the book: (Excerpts only)
Few comics today can say they have worked with the likes of George Burns, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Bobby Darin, but Pat Cooper can.   Born Pasquale Caputo, he came on to the show business scene in 1963.
Pat Cooper is brash and honest about what is going on around him.   That makes for an amazing, offbeat story of his life.

In How Dare You Say How Dare Me!  Cooper shares memorable, typically comical moments from his youth, including the loss of his virginity to a middle-aged yenta, and his efforts to join the military, at age 17, only to be kicked out for having hammerhead toes.  A 7th generation brick layer by trade, he started out performing his stand-up routine in small clubs and theaters at night.  He got his big break into the big time there.

My book review:
When I seen the opportunity to review this book through Square One Publishers I went for it, but for one reason.  My husbands last name is Cooper.   Admittedly once I got the book in the mail, I wondered what I was thinking.  Would I really be interested in reading this?
My question was answered as soon as I opened the book and started reading.  The very first day I started reading the book I read to page 60 before making myself stop so that I could get other things done.
I found this book to be a great read.  Very entertaining and interesting.
Pat Cooper tells of his life from just about the time of his birth (in 1929) to now.  Whoa!  This man has had one life!
As I read the book, I was always recounting to those around me the things I had just read.  Nope, not going to go in to details and ruin the book, but will say there is sure an interesting read involving Johnny Carson  he he.
I'm not one who appreciates the F word, and you will find this several times on about every page of the book.  But hey, it was part of his life and how he talked.  I'm sure the book and his story just wouldn't be the same if they would have sugar coated the word.

My final say---if you want to be entertained, read this book.  You won't be disappointed.

Squidoo Hopping 4/7/11

Good afternoon and welcome to this week's squidoo blog hop!

I'm late late getting this posted today!

The reason is I've spent the majority of this day so far actually building a new lens.  They do take a bit once you get in to searching for information, getting photos to share etc etc.

This Day in History March 25.   I plan on this being a whole series eventually.  I really would like your input on this.  I'm starting with days that mean something to me.  March 25 is my dad's birthday.  We lost him 15 yrs ago to cancer.   My plan is each year to go back in and add 2 or 3 more history items to keep them fresh.

Gifts Galore and More  --This was my very first lens and included a little bit of everything...I intended for it to be my one and only lens---little did I know!  Over time I took the information in it and made each section into different lenses.  Now I just don't know what to do with it---I don't feel like I need it at all.  I would love for you to take a look and help me decide if I should just delete it, or give me some different suggestions to make it better.  I have a lensography so just not sure what to do with this one.  Thanks!!

WIP Wednesday 4/6/11

Alas....nothing changed as far as my craft room this past week.  Those same 3 boxes are sitting in the middle of the floor to be looked through, and the chest of drawers is still piled with clothes to look through.  Not that big of a deal.

After 2 months of canceling due to weather, we were finally able to have sewing club at church again yesterday.  I was able to finish up 2 strip quilt tops I had previously started.  The yellow one is pictured complete....the blue one I took the photo and then ended up having enough time to put the edging around it...didn't think to take another photo at that point.

I'm in the middle of working on an order for my friend of 2 hot pads and 4 washcloths, all in black.

I also did get a start on working on the rug I am making for our basement floor but didn't get a photo of it.  I will see about getting some more work on it before next Wednesday and getting a photo.

For now, I am heading in to my craft room and I'm going to prepare all the material I have to make fabric bags.  I have enough material right now to make 6 of them.  Can't sell them if they aren't made!

Please click the button below to join us with Every Day Crochet and share your WIP's and/or check out what others are up to.

Giveaways Linky Tuesday (A day late)

Oops!  Sorry this is a day late!   I left home pretty much after I got up and it was about midnight last night when I realized I didn't post this before leaving.  I hope you will still list your giveaways.

Educator.com Review

As a bzz agent with bzzagent.com, I was so happy to take the campaign with educator.com.  Excited actually, since we are a home school family.  I only have one daughter left at home and she is in 8th grade.

Unfortunately, the campaign came just before we were closing on our first real home.  The campaign included a free 30- day membership to educator.com.  I signed up before the closing....I thought about it several times throughout the 30 days.  We didn't get back to the website until the last week of my 30 day trial.  However, I have a long review...I hope you enjoy.

Educator.com offers over 500 math and science subjects---lectures whiteboard--self-paced learning--unlimited access for one price--and unlimited personal support  (taken from their website).

There are 34 courses available in math--22 courses in chemistry--30 courses in physics--12 courses in biology--11 courses in computer science---and math magic lessons.
Numerous lectures are available with each subject.

Free sample lessons are available in all subjects except for the math magic.  Try before you buy!  Get a real feel of the website before deciding to join or not.
You must be a member to take part in the discussions with each lesson.

Click over and check it out for yourself:  http://www.educator.com

Subscription costs are:  $35 per month, $150 for 6 months, or $240 for a year.

Jasmine's opinion:  She has an older, slower computer.  She had problems with the videos loading too slow.  She didn't like that as soon as the video hit the buffering spot, it started all over again.  She soon figured out to stop the video until it was fully loaded.  She suggests they take out the part that makes it auto start when it hits the buffering part.
She enjoyed the Math Magic and actually learned some things, so she was impressed.

My opinion:  I think educator.com is an excellent source for us as homeschoolers.  I can even learn from the computer science department to help me with my online ventures.
Jasmine loves being on the computer and what I seen was that she really did pay attention to the lessons that we tried.
The down side?  One lesson we tried to access was just blank after the download of the video.  Reading comments in the discussion board, several others had the problem and were complaining about it.  It was an early on lesson too, so if you want to go in to order, or if that is what you need to learn, that poses a problem.
The very next lesson I went to, I seen right away in the discussion area where others were complaining about the video being choppy and they couldn't get the lesson the way they should be able to.  I went ahead and put the lesson on for Jasmine.  As I went about my housecleaning, she too complained about the video skipping and that she felt she was missing out on important parts of the video.
Another problem that we ran into---she loved doing the Math Magic, but after the first day, for the life of either one of us, we couldn't figure out how to access the lessons again!

Here is a list of the lessons Jasmine did:
Basic Math--Exponents, Expressions and Variables, and Order of Operations.
AP Chemistry--Introduction to Chemistry
Math Magic--Magic X
Biology--Acids, Bases and Buffers and Organic Molecules

For now, I will have Jasmine do the free lessons.  I had her skip those as I will need to save a bit to get a membership.  I do intend to get a membership, at least the 6 month one for her to use throughout the next school year when she will officially by a high school student.
