New Teen DIY Book--Me, You, Us by Lisa Currie (review and giveaway)

Remember 80s slam books? What was better than a memory book where teens could talk about themselves and share their thoughts with friends?

Lisa Currie has created a slam book for the internet generation with ME, YOU, US.

You can fill out ME, YOU, US with friends or loved ones, featuring a spectrum of interactive and open-ended prompts asking you to share nicknames for each other, memories of first meeting and dreams of the future. You can pass the book back and forth with your besties, use it as a scrapbook of all the good people in your life, or share it with your boyfriend/girlfriend as a memento of your time together.

This is a great book for camp, slumber parties or lazy Summer days.

Example pages:

My thoughts:

I gave Me, You, Us to my teenager as soon as I got it in the mail.  Her boyfriend was here when it came in.  They got right into looking through the pages and saying out loud the different things they could write in the book and such.   It's was so cool.

The 2 of the did fill out lots of pages together.  My daughter said they had a blast doing it and laughed a lot and were serious a lot.

She then did some pages with her good friend when she spent the night.

I am sharing just a few shots of pages they filled out.  Some were on the personal side to be sharing to the world!

Me, You, Us is 183 pages of fun!

One lucky Marsha's Spot reader will win their own copy of the book.  Just enter using the rafflecopter form below.
Also be sure to check it out on amazon along with Lisa's other book called The Scribble Diary.

Disclaimer:  I rec'd a copy of the book for the purpose of doing a review.  I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions are my own.  I was also supplied a second book for the purpose of this giveaway.

Frugal Friday with Marsha Link Up 8/29/14

For the next several weeks, each Friday I am going to share frugal recipes that are also family friendly as well.
This week it's Hamburger Stew:

My mom started making this years ago and it’s one of our family favorites. It costs very little to feed our crew.

Hamburger Stew

1 lb ground beef (we use ground turkey)
1 can tomato soup
1 can vegetable soup or 1 can of mixed vegetables.

Cook and drain the ground meat.
Add the can of tomato soup and the can of vegetables.
Add water to consistency you desire. That’s it!

We serve this over toast. If we have shredded cheese available we can top it off with that.
All you really need to do it add a dairy and your fruit for a balanced meal. It’s simple and very inexpensive to fix.
We choose to use ground turkey at our house over ground beef. It’s cheaper and it’s healthier. Whether we use the vegetable soup or the mixed vegetables depends on what we have in the house at the time.

We serve 8 or 9 of us on this one recipe, which leaves everyone wanting more so I would say it serves 4. You can add rice or cooked pasta to make it stretch even further.

Writer's Unite Weekly Link Up 8/28/14

Welcome to another week of sharing.
I was able to save all of the lenses that I wanted to and have posted one of those over to bubblews.
I will soon start some series here on my blog.
I'm still reeling with so many things to do all the way around.
I've not even tried to figure out how I messed up the coding for the buttons to be shared.  ....sigh....
I also need to rework some of the pages here.

In the meantime, I will share a couple of my bubblews posts again with you this week, but if you have a chance, check out the 2 giveaways that are live on my blog as well.

WIP Wednesday 8/27/14

Again it was a hexagon only week for me.

While going through the linky last week over on the Freshly Pieced blog I ran across this post:
http://www.sewcraftyjenn.com/2014/08/im-back.html
I seen she had a storage box she was using for her hexagons.  Jenn was kind enough to reply to me with a link to the box she has.
I went to amazon.  That box wasn't part of the free 2-day shipping with my amazon prime so I ended up with a different and larger box.
I'm so happy with it!  It's still almost not big enough for my hexagons, as you will see in the photo, and there is no room to put the flowers when I am done with them.

And, here are my green hexagons for the soscrappy challenge this month of green.  (See button at the bottom of my post to check out the color challenge for yourself)
I didn't picture the individual greens this week, but you can see them in their compartment in my box above.
I also worked on a few extra hexagons this week that weren't green.
I think I'm hexagoned out for now.

This is my current UFO list:
Rectangle quilt
challenge wall hanging
GoodNight Irene quilt/wall hanging
Yo-Yo Table runner
Emerald Island Fusique table runner
Sunflower table runner and matching placemats
Five and Dime quilt
34 Hot Pads
Christmas bags (total of at least 25)
