Frugal Friday With Marsha -- My Laptop is Down

My laptop is down.  I can only assume I need a new battery as it won't hold a charge and now it's at the point of if it does come on, it goes right back off and says it's plugged in but not charging.
This makes me very sad, as you probably know.  I depend on my online work for my earning.

I am grateful for my 2 tablets, my plan phone, and 3 other phones that I run apps on.  I've been surfing on my plan phone, along with the 2 tablets.  But, now I have to also do my email from my phone as well.  No idea how I can even come close to doing it all.

Online Earnings May 2016

I am up in earnings from what April was, and June will be interesting to add up since I will be gone on the mission trip with no mobile data or internet while I'm gone.  Yep, it's going to be interesting!

I'm still waiting payment on 3 of the 4 websites that I noted about in last months post.  It might just be a lost cause at this point and time to stop surfing those.    I will do some heavy thinking and soul searching while on the mission trip away from technology.

April 2016 Online Earnings

Finally getting around to sharing what I was paid last month from various websites and apps.
I can't say that I'm happy with the lack of earning and I am looking at some different things this month.  I guess all I can say is wish me luck!

I want to note that I chose to buy credits with $4.95 of my earnings with hotflashhits.
Also that I am waiting on payments from 4 sites that should have paid me some time ago.  I will be putting in support tickets, so as I said before, wish me luck.  Getting paid by them will shoot the earnings up for this month.

As far as selling my crafts and used books, I had a profit of $10.97 for the month. This takes my earnings online for the month to $77.18

March 2016 Online Earnings

Earnings are supposed to be getting better each month, but March was not good at all.  I report as monies are received, not just cashed out.
I do have 4 cash outs that should have been in, but still aren't.

I am doing some things differently now such as getting ads out regularly in the mailers I am doing.
The other thing is that I must get to taking care of my crafts--making them, listing them for sale, and promoting them.

I sold a book last month in half.com and I sold some dishscrubbies in the online craft mall.  Both of those had expense for shipping, but I did not receive payment until this month.
I also sold a rug in my etsy store, however, a lot of my etsy listings re-listed so by the time I paid the shipping for the book and scrubbies, shipping on the rug, and the etsy fees, I only came how with a profit of $4.93 for the month.

Add the $4.93 to the $66.76 and my in pocket earnings for the month were $71.69.  Wish me luck for this figure to be a LOT better in April.

February 2016 Online Earnings

I have February tallied up.  I did do better in February than I did in January.  Now I just need to keep increasing the amount each month.

These come to a total of $100.62 of which $75 of it will never be paid again.

This takes my total to $141.73 for the month.

January I only ended up with $105.57 'in my pocket', so this is a good improvement.  Like I said, I want to see what's in my pocket continue to increase each month!

For me to share my online earnings for the previous month is not what I normally would ever share in my Frugal Friday post, but things what they are right now, so here you go.

This brings my total to just $105.57 for the month.

I've always had a goal of taking in a total of $600 for the month and this included retail pricing of items I receive free--samples, magazine subscriptions, items I get in for review etc.
I slacked off and haven't been keeping track of those things for several months.  From this day on I am going to start keeping track of that again and adding it to my total again.
I will try to come back and edit this post once I get a list of the items I got in January as well.

Looking back over the year and my monthly earnings online, it looks like January and February of 2015 were my biggest earning months.  A LOT has changed in the past year.

I did get both my etsy shop and my zibbet store up and running again.  I even had some sales.  Unfortunately, I don't have those figures put together yet.  That will add on to my earnings for both months.    I also sold a book at half.com and am working to add a book for sale here and there to add to my inventory there.

This must improve!  I started doing a lot more this month in the way of  joining different traffic exchanges.  I'm joining more to take part more in the VTG games. (I need to write a whole post on VTG some day)  I even upgraded at traffic browser for the lowest $2 a month to be able to surf 10 traffic exchanges at once instead of 7.  This is getting more done.
I'm still working on this and will continue to do so.

In the meantime, I also am working on my crafts again and will soon have my etsy store open again.

Learning As I Go

I am still learning as I go about using the traffic exchanges.
I am still doing 8 of them each day, giving myself a goal of how much I am surfing at each one each day.  Often I don't make my goals, but I do get logged in to them each day and do at least some.
Some of them I am only continuing to work until I reach payout, then I will only do those occasionally.

My favorite by far is still Traffic Royal.  There are so many different ways to earn there, and I am still learning!  Just yesterday in chat I learned that there is an average surf reward.  Each day when I reach that, I go to the page and claim it for an extra 2 cents.  If I do that 5 times in a week then I claim an additional 10 cents.   
I'm glad I learned about it by someone else saying they got their reward in chat.  I wonder how many cents I've missed out on these past few weeks??
Once I get enough money in my paypal I am going to pay to upgrade to their first level upgrade.  In speaking to people in chat they say it's well worth it and I will gain over what I pay each month.  I'm willing to give it a shot for one month and see just how it works.



A couple days ago one of the gals that I chat with here and there in a few of the traffic exchanges (TE's) that I do sent me a message telling me about 2 mailers to join.
The mailers are a lot like the TE's only instead of surfing through websites, you get ads in your email with links.
I never thought I would try one, but boy am I glad that I did!
As a free member I get to send out a paid ad to members every 3 days.  I will be sending one out for Jerky Direct today.
The one I am doing is Wild Hog Mailer.  
It also has other ways to earn such as a jackpot game, the average click reward, paid to clicks, collecting icons and more!

Earning Experiment Results

If you recall my post last Monday, I said that I was going to try to keep track of all of my earnings 'online' for the week, not just the traffic exchanges.
I think I did keep track pretty well, but it was such a super busy week!  One day I was sick.  Another day I spent 5 hours at church.  One day I spent time at the doctor and then out of town for a concert.  Another day was 9 hours away for my nephews wedding.

All in all though, I tend to have these busy weeks about every week.  Always something taking me away from home where I would rather be.  Take today---all morning at quilt guild, then some time at my mom's before coming home to finally get started.

Anyway, I was not able to make my surfing goal on the traffic exchanges each day of the week.  I have come to the conclusion that they were taking up too much of my life though.  I'm no longer going to stress over them.  I will eventually reach pay out without stressing over how many surfs I think I need to do on each one each day.

I only earned $3.84 this past week with the traffic exchanges.  I earned just $2.69 with websites that I stopped to work a bit on while surfing in the traffic exchanges.  I earned $16.09 with some apps and websites that aren't seen while I am surfing, for a grand total of $22.62 for the week. 
There was some other earning that I didn't keep track of like the zubees and stickers that I earn while surfing Traffic Royal, but it was too much thinking for me to figure out what each point is worth on those.

Anyway, I am going to keep plugging away.

I am going to work more on getting crafts made and listed in my Etsy, Zibbet, and Shophandmade shops.  I will be promoting my crafts more often.  This is firstly because I have sponsored a child in Peru.   I need to sell enough crafts to cover my monthly sponsorship.   I will write a whole other post about my sponsored child at a later date.

Gladiator Hits

After getting back in to surfing for traffic at Traffic Dynamite, I thought I would check out another traffic exchange that I've been a member of for some time again.....Gladiator Hits.

Gladiator Hits, I believe is owned by the same people as Traffic Dynamite, and offers pretty much the same surfing.  They also offer a jackpot each week that is shared among the top 25 surfers of the week.   I set myself a goal of  finding out if I surfed 100 websites each day, could I still make the top 25.   My answer for last week was yes!   Included in my points for the week was points for logging in each day as well as points for sharing my referral link on twitter each day (including a bonus for doing each of those all 7 days).  I ended up in 11th place and I rec'd 48 cents, 100 site credits, 120 banner impressions and 200 text impressions.

Just as with Traffic Dynamite, I updated the 5 sites I have in rotation as a free member and also added banners and text links. 

Something that I discovered after writing my post last week is that both sites offer a downline builder section and a surf center section.  
Gladiator Hits has 29 other traffic exchanges listed in the downline builder.  I can't imagine belonging to that many AND trying to be active in them!!
However, in the surf center, they give you a suggested rotating schedule.  They suggest spending 30 minutes in each on on the morning list and each one on the afternoon list each day.  There are only 4 in each section and the 29 are spread out pretty evenly throughout the week.
Yes, I am actually thinking of giving this a try.  It does mean work, mostly work in getting links in to each of the ones that I join.

Since I don't have adsense, I can rotate my blog in the exchanges.  Since I am doing more writing here now that means finding more to see my blog.  It also means more people seeing my Jerky Direct pages and my zibbet and shophandmade (etsy breaks frames so can't be in the exchanges)

I'm having fun, and in the grand scheme of things, that's what matters to me.  I want to have fun while I am earning.
And speaking of earning.  I did also earn 7 cents while surfing for the week in addition to the 48 cents, and I am just 2 trophies away from adding 10 more cents to my bank.  Payout is $20 for free members.

There is one thing different at Gladiator Hits---there is no chat feature on the side like there is with Traffic Dynamite.  I enjoy the chat feature.  There is a link at the bottom that says sign up or log in to chat (which is also at the bottom of Dynamite), but I've not clicked to see what that is all about, but I know I miss having it on Gladiator as well.
Two differences---Gladiator Hits does not have a paid to click section like Traffic Dynamite does.

Squidoo Hopping 9/1/11--Linky

Wow! August is gone and here we are to September 1.

Again I crammed in most of my squidoo in to yesterday. Every day I'm in squidoo, just not updating or building my own lenses like I should be.
I'm appreciating the 2 squidoo groups that I belong to in facebook.

I got busy last night with my goal of finding a charity for each lens and tithing from squidoo through helping others. I found my best way to see what the charities were while I was in there was to put it in to the donations module and go read the description from there.
I'm disappointed that there are no charities that deal with crafts---like making crafts to send to the needy. I wanted one of those for my craft type lenses. Also, I seen no charity that dealt with music. I was hoping to find one of those for my music lenses.

Anyway, I updated my Marsha's Crafts lens adding KIVA as the charity. I also did some updating. It needs more updating though because I hope to rid myself of the Gifts Galore and More website since I can't update it myself and I don't focus on many of the crafts that are listed there anymore.

I updated Earn Money Online aka Earn With Marsha to add KIVA as the charity as well. KIVA gives loans and grants to entrepreneurs. I did some updating of the lens otherwise as well.

Lastly I updated Our Unschooling Journal adding Room to Read as the charity. This was fun again to look back almost 3 years ago and see what Jasmine looked like and what she was doing.

I've asked before, but this is still bothering me. Does anyone know how to delete items from the etsy module after they are sold? They are just staying there forever. I'm thinking my best bet is to just delete the module and re-add a new one and start over!
