Frugal Friday With Marsha Link Up
The other day Amazon sent me an email with suggested items for me. They are all books on Frugal Living. I want to read them all! I thought sharing them with you all in my Frugal Friday blog post would fit right in.
Now, on to sharing from the 99 Cent Solutions book. This week I am sharing 4 uses for lotion.
1. Hand lotion for your hair. If you are having a super bad hair day with dry hair, just rub your hands with hand lotion and then run your hands through your hair.
2. Shine your shoes. Just rub a little hand cream over your shoes, buff it off, and they will have a brand new shine.
3. Trouble with getting shocked? They say that if you put body lotion on your body and then continually put hand lotion on throughout the day, you will avoid those electricity shocks during the winter.
4. Help for hangnails. Just rub hand or body lotion into your cuticles daily to keep those troublesome area soft and help to prevent future hangnails.

Squidoo Hopping--Cozy Magazine
This week I would like for you to share lenses that you have in the Cozy Magazine.
I don't think that I have any that qualify, so would like to see what they are looking for there.

Since I don't have any in, I am going to choose to share 2 of my WIP's this week. I had 26 WIP's and I've gotten it down to 16 now, but that is still horrible! (Feel free to share whatever type of lens you would like as well)

WIP Wednesday--Bunny Blocks and Granny Squares
It's been a week of bunny blocks and granny squares.
Let's start with the bunny squares. Thanks to 4 hours at sit n' sew at the local quilt shop, I was able to get all my bunny blocks cut and most all of the bunnies basted on. I finished the basting, as well as completing one of the bunny blocks while out and about waiting for others in my van. The plan on those is to keep the box in my van for handwork while waiting. I am going to be joining a stitch group for handwork as well, so we will see when that starts and what work I can plan while with the group.
I have 20 bunnies. If I stick with these and just butt them next to each other with no sashing, it's not going to be a very large quilt. Time will tell on what I decide to do here.
Now for my granny squares. As you know, this was a Granny a Day 2012 challenge put out by the Hooked blog. Click the button to check out her blog. I have completed my blanket and my pillow both and I am done for the year. I was going to make you all wait to see the finished products but decided not to. I have a total of 340 squares in the blanket and pillow combined and that would have taken me to December 5.

Homeschool Journal--US Government
Again we have been lacking in getting schoolwork done.....or at least what I think we should be getting done.
With the elections last week we spent a LOT of hours with US Government.
We bought a workbook called Elections, Elections, Elections and worked through it a bit. Jasmine did a lot of studying on her own about the candidates and government in general.
On election day we had the tv on to CSPAN for hours. She learned about the electoral college among other things.
Of course the entire evening and on until about midnight we watched the election results.
She even did US Government through the SW Advantage software.
She is asking me if she can call it good for US Government. I would say pretty much so.
Otherwise this last week we did a lot of math. I know she did some other things--US History, Grammar, Vocabulary, Home Ec, and the usual Bible study and such that is every week.
This week so far we are right on track....ok, so we've only had Monday. We ripped through all of the subjects yesterday and I am crossing my fingers that we can stay on track. We are out all day today, but she will take her laptop with us and work in the SW Advantage software on various subjects.
I still need to finish adding up hours and see just where she is on high school credits.
I know this is pretty boring without photos so I will try to work on that for future weeks.
