Frugal Friday With Marsha -- Things Work Out

MarshasSpot

Sometimes I am amazed how things work out. How the Lord does provide just as he promises he will.

I, myself, did very little grocery shopping last week. Just a gallon of milk, a jar of pasta sauce, a dozen eggs, a box of Hamburger Helper, a cantaloupe, and 4- 2 ltrs of Dr.Pepper.
Yes, all of it had rebates from ibotta.

My mom gave us a package of sausage patties, which with eggs and toast made a nice breakfast for supper.
I cooked up the last 2 turkey patties and cut them up for the meat in our spaghetti another supper.
I cooked a huge whole chicken in the crockpot that made chicken sandwiches the first night and then a pot of chicken and noodles that we ate 2 nights in a row.
We did splurge one evening when my daughter and her family were in town for my granddaughters 4th birthday, and we went and bought 3 of the $5 Little Caesar's pizzas.

I've been so grateful for the $50 amazon that I cashed out for with the Lucktastic app, along with earnings from my amazon affiliate. It's paid for 80 lbs of cat litter and 66 lbs of cat food for our animals. It's time now to get it added back up though so that I can order more...hopefully before what we still have is gone. Amazon Prime is awesome with the free shipping!

I don't know yet what this week's shopping will bring. It's been a whirlwind week and I don't even know what gift cards I have available. I spent one of my $5 Target gift cards buying Zelda some gifts from the Spot for her birthday last Friday.

How has your week been?

WIP Wednesday 6/10/15

I didn't end up posting last week.  Not sure why other than I only had sewed together this mess of green 4-patches for the soscrappy challenge color of green last month.  They are still now in a bag, still needed to be cut apart, pressed, and squared up.
This months color is light blue.  I intend to just do blue with the 4 patches, which will include some light blue.  I say intend as I do have a quilt show to finish things for too.

I did manage to finish the tops of the rest of my fractured pineapple blocks.  I still have a long ways to go to finish this quilt as one that I will be entering into the quilt show in July.  I won't be working on it anymore until Friday evening when I go to sit n' sew at the quilt shop.

Frugal Friday with Marsha --Basic Grocery List

MarshasSpot

What is your basic grocery list?  The food you like to always have on hand no matter what?

Here is my list:
Eggs
Cheese
Bread
Crackers
Milk
Sugar
Flour
Chicken
Ground Beef
Ground Turkey
Vegetable Soup
Tomato Soup
Cream of Mushroom Soup
Tuna
Margarine
Powdered Sugar (this to make myself a bit of frosting if I am having a sugar attack)
Peanut Butter
Jelly

With these things I can always come up with a meal.

Things I like to always have in the house are:
Chocolate!
Cheez-Its
Carnation Breakfast Drink
Honey Wheat Puffs cereal
Dr. Pepper!!!
Microwave popcorn
Fresh fruits and veggies

I actually did my grocery shopping yesterday instead of today, paid for with Walmart gift cards earned from Swagbucks and PerkTV.
I bought: cantaloupe, gallon of milk, Hamburger Helper, Ragu pasta sauce, 4-2 ltrs of Dr. Pepper, a a dozen eggs.
I paid $13.91 and got back $2.85 from ibotta.  I am so thankful for all of the any brand, regular grocery foods, that ibotta has with rebates!  I got money back from ibotta on everything that I bought.

Not bad, but not much food.  Thankfully my mom gave us some ground beef and other beef, plus cans of beef stew, some soups, and some canned vegetables.  These will help us get through this week along with what we still had left on hand for meats.

Writer's Unite 6/4/15

MarshasSpot

We've made it to June.  It looks like summer is finally here.  We had a lot of rain here in Kansas throughout May and now the temps are staying where I am not cold.

I am still slacking off on my writing except a post a day on bubblews.   I'm in hopes for the motivation needed to get the needed blog posts written over the weekend.

How is your writing morivation now that summer is upon us?

I'm disappointed to find that my online earnings are down $12 from April.  It needs to continue to rise, not fall!

Frugal Friday With Marsha -- What's On This Week's Shopping List?

MarshasSpot

Last week I made my list and spending was $12.87.  Less than what I had to spend.  I received back a total of $3.15 between Ibotta and checkout51.
This week I have $10 in Walmart gift cards and $9.20 in Target gift cards.

I needed to find a name brand something to buy through ibotta to help with my bonuses.  I am choosing the Glad Press N' Seal because that is something that we need. (and I have a $1 coupon too) Also then bananas and milk, and Dr Pepper is on there again (thank goodness!).
Bananas are also my choice for checkout51 as well.

In addition I am picking up a box of Cheez-Its and a box of my Chewy Sweetarts.  These will be parts of my foods that I take with me when I start doing the wheat field inspections next week.   Bananas I will also take with me.
I'm also using a coupon for Yakisoba noodles $1/3.  They are .58 each at Walmart and they are always good to have around the house, especially for the kids that like them.

We are ok for this week as far as meats yet, so that is good.  Hubby did buy us each 2 more 2 ltrs of Dr. Pepper each this past week.  Maybe I can try to pick us up more is I have enough this week.
We are also still ok on eggs, cheese, bread and other what I call grocery essentials.

Next week will be more of a challenge when meats and those essentials will need to be replenished!

Until then, I look forward to any frugal posts that you choose to share with us this week.

Writer's Unite 5/28/15

MarshasSpot

I'm in a writing slump, I admit it.  I can't put my heart in to it.....and I have some reviews that should have already done.
One is a book, which is a good one, and which I am still reading.
Motivate me friends!

I'm writing just once a day on bubblews.  I do still enjoy the interaction there and also know how important the personal interaction is.  That doesn't apply to just bubblews, but all over the net.

How have your writing days been?

WIP Wednesday 5/27/15

First of all this past week I did pull out the green 2 1/4 inch squares.  I did get a start on sewing them in to 4 patches as you can see by the mess in my picture.  I hope to have enough of the St Patricks print to make in to a table runner.
These are the green for the soscrappy blog color challenge this month.  I already know that June's color is light blue.

I did get in some work on my fractured pineapple quilt.  What I need to do now is make this my ongoing, always work on project until it is DONE....and not get something else out to work on until it's done.  I really hope to have a good amount of progress to share with you next week.
