WIP Wednesday 5/21/14

Whoa!  Life is spinning out of control crazy!

I only have one photo to show today.  It's my scrappy log cabin table runner.  I now have the binding sewn around and ready to hand sew down.

I did finish up the quilt for church as well as my scrappy log cabin wall hanging.
One of these days I will get a post up with all of my finishes for the year so far.....some day.

I didn't find time to get in any more work on my Goodnight Irene quilt.  Cross your fingers for me that I can relax and have some down time to concentrate on that this week!

I didn't get a picture of the wall hanging.  I had to push to get it done before Monday morning as it will hang in our museum until the end of July.

WIP Wednesday 5/7/14

Since last Wednesday my WIP mostly has been getting ready for the yard sale that we had on Saturday.

Saturday during the sale I did get a new rug going:
Since then I have cut up more t-shirts and fabric strips for future rugs.  I love making these.

Last night I took the time out to get the borders on my log cabin wall hanging and table runner.

Notice baby kitty laying on top of the couch?  Too sweet  hehe
We only have 2 more kittens to find homes for now.  Now I wish I knew how to find homes for the older ones as well.

No finishes this week and I didn't add any more new projects to my list either  :)

WIP Wednesday 2/19/14

Seems to me that I actually got in a lot of work this week!  I've gotten in work on several of my projects.

Here is the rug so far:
I got a start on working on hexagons finally!   I'm not sure if you can really tell just how many hexies are in the box for me to make up, but I plan to do all of them to make into different projects.  My first goal project is a table topper.
I did a little more work on my yo-yo table runner.

I got 2 more rounds on my log cabin quilt blocks.  I am working on squaring them up now.   Once I get this part done I am going to pack these up to work on during the retreat on Feb 28 and March 1.   I have to cut more strips to pack up as well.
I finished up the scrappy rectangle quilt top!
Last but not least, I sewed together 2 scrappy rectangle table runners.

I told you that I've been busy.......seeing all of these photos, now I know why my house is such a mess!  hehe  Maybe I should work to remedy that today.   I do have needlers group this afternoon where I plan to work more on the hexagons.

WIP Wednesday 1/22/14

That saying about food where you say "my eyes were bigger than my stomach" is true for my sewing in that my brain always thinks I can get more done than I really can.

I had hoped to get 2 strips on my log cabin blocks and then get those all squared up.  Not fast when I am doing 92 of the at a time.
Here is where I ended last night:
I finished the machine quilting around all of my bunnies and this is the layout I have chosen to sew them together.
I have one row put together:
It's not going to be a very large quilt but it's going to make a great child's quilt or lap quilt for sure.

I had intended to make my other 3 blocks for the Goodnight Irene sew along but didn't get that far.
I also had intended to get my fabrics cut for our quilt guild work day on Monday.   I must get those done next to be ready for Monday.  Our community service project this year is making lined bags for the Domestic Violence Center.

I think I have done more sewing already in 2014 than I did all of 2013 and it's feeling great!
