I'm back!!   It's November 1st......new month seems like a good time to get back into the swing of things with my blog.

I've been super busy with my personal life with things that have taken me away from home.
Online when I am home, a good chunk of time is spent over at bubblews.

In fact, I am working on an A to Z Challenge over on bubblews that goes with being frugal.  It's a Tightwad Tips challenge.

I wish I had gotten these books earlier than I did.  The UPS man brought them to me late evening on the 28th.
I was glad to have 3 of my granddaughters over the afternoon of the 29th to help me with this review.

I don't know a child anywhere that doesn't like to use Play-Doh.  It's such a great imagination "toy".
The girls were more than happy to help me with my review.  I wanted them basically to pick one thing to make each, but that wasn't enough for them.
They played with these books for a good 3 hours or more!  They ended up taking over the camera as they took pictures of their projects.  Bear with me as some of them are blurry.

Myths of Ancient Greece by Helen Slater--Review and Giveaway!

You may know Helen Slater by her career. It has encompassed motion pictures, television, music, and stage. Her debut film performance in Supergirl, opposite Faye Dunaway and Peter O'Toole, then she went on to star in such films as The Legend of Billie Jean, Ruthless People, The Secret of My Success, City Slickers, Sticky Fingers, Lassie, No Way Back, The Steal, and Seeing Other People, among others.

She has now recorded this wonderful CD entitled Myths of Ancient Greece.
It mixes stories with songs.  We learn about  Demeter & Persephone, Perseus & Medusa, Orpheus & Eurydice, Echo & Narcissus, and Cupid & Psyche.

It's a great mix of the stories and the music.  The songs are catchy.   I would say this is good for all ages.
My daughter is a senior this year, and as many of you know, she is homeschooled.
It just happened that we studied Greece through books.  The books didn't touch too much on mythology and she expressed an interest in also learning the myths as well.  I had bought her a workbook that we have just started in.
I was excited to have a chance to review Myths of Ancient Greece and use it as part of her schooling.
We both really enjoyed it and will listen to it a few more times of learning.

It's a proven fact that music helps you learn better, this CD is great!

This has to be the cutest children's book that I have ever seen!
When I got it in, I first "read" it to my 16 yr old daughter, who then read it to her boyfriend later.
I put read in quotes because there are no words in this book, only fantastic photos just like you see on the front cover above.

Each time you read it, you tell the story a bit differently.

I read it to my husband.  He thought it was super cute too.
My 2 yr old granddaughter came to visit and I read it to her.   She didn't want to put the book down, she was so in to looking at the pictures and pointing at different things.
I then had my other 5 grandchildren over for a night.  I read the book to them as well.  They range in age from 4 to 12.  Again, they loved it!

The pictures are so crisp and clear and do tell the story well of Hand finding the egg and his adventure of returning the egg to it's mother.

Cute, cute cute!

The author, Rebecca Dudley makes everything that appears in the illustrations-----the trees, the leaves, the ponds, the skies, and the creatures.  Hank Finds an Egg is her debut children's picture book.

When I seen this book in my email with an offer to do a review I wanted to jump on it.   Most of you know that we are a homeschool family.  I only have one daughter left at home and she does not like math at all.  It's what we are struggling with to get enough hours for high school credit.

I received the book in the summer with full intention of making her do math with this book over the summer.  As summer goes, that just didn't work out.
We did just recently finish going through the book.

At first Jasmine hated it just like she hates all math.  Before it was over though, she loved it and was even showing others how it works when they would come over!

In Fear No Numbers we are taught 2 concepts:  The Proof of Nine and the MaXima system.

I knew there were several secrets to the number 9 in math.  I had NO idea about these systems.  I had fun learning them as well.
I recommend this book whether you are a homeschool family or if your child is struggling in school as a supplement for home.

Though conditions were harsh; meager food, little resources for shoes and clothing, and even abuse by some of those in charge, we children also experiences times of laughter, discovery, and vindication, especially right after D-Day.
