WIP Wednesday 7/16/14

I have tried to stay steadily busy throughout the week working on my sewing and quilting.  As always I have several projects all going at the same time with more waiting in the wings.

I have my version of a five and dime quilt started now.  The 10 inch squares are all cut.   I hope this week to get some sewing done on them.  This is my first time trying this method but when Lynne Hagmeier did the program at our guild I wanted to try her method of sewing on top.
I'm not using the Kansas Troubles fabrics as you can tell.
I'm using plain colored fabrics that were given to me by a friend.  The charm pack that I chose to buy is 30's Playtime and I bought it with a gift certificate from the quilt shop that I won in my stitch group.

I finally have gotten out the hexagon table topper and am working to hand stitch it to the backing.  I'm not putting a center in this one.

I'm still working with red on my hexagons as this month's color in the soscrappy blog color challenge.
They are moving along nicely working on them just a bit each day.  I have 2 hours of needlers group this afternoon that will progress them more today.

I did finish putting on the binding on the scrappy table runner and now have it listed in my etsy shop.
I'm now working little by little to sew down the binding on the sunflower table runner and then get the placemats done too.
Speaking of my etsy shop, it's also a WIP as I am working to 'get back in to business'.  I've listed 2 new items and have chosen to relist several to fill the shop up some.  I'm even working on my Marsha's Spot of ETSY squidoo lens to get it back up to date as well!

Last, but not least, this week I bought a few yards of insulbrite and got more work done on these 34 hot pads.  Excuse my grandson's foot in the photo.  He just turned 13 and thinks he's quite the comedian  LOL   I've had the tops made for awhile, extra blocks from quilt tops that are the right size for hot pads.  These haven't been on my WIP list, but they are now added (as you will see on my lists below)
I am going to back all of these with the same polka dot fabric that I am backing the table topper above with.
Some will be listed in my etsy shop in sets of 2 and others will be put back and given out at Christmas time.

I'm still reading a little each day in The Cross-Country Quilters.  Reading doesn't find time in my daily life as it should, but I'm officially half way done with the book now.   It's so good and I look forward to reading more.

WIP Wednesday 3/16/11

Welcome to WIP Wednesday in conjunction with Every Day Crochet. Please click the button at the end of my post to join in.

I think my entire life is a WIP!! I was going to come in and say that I have no WIP's other than the placemats I am making for out table. (On those, I now have completed 4, which you will see in the photo of the table. I have 2 more to complete for the set of 6.)
I can't say that's my only WIP. I have that quilt that I need to get back to and finish. I'm still in the process of unpacking. I'm down to the craft room, but working slowly at it after busting my you know what unpacking the rest of the house. I would love if you would hop over to my album on gather to check out the progress of settling in to the house. Our New Home
I'm also always in the process of reading books to review. Currently I am reading an autobiography of the comedian Pat Cooper. It's a good read, very interesting. I am so behind of getting my book reviews written....and I have a virtual book tour that needs to be done as well!

Anyway...we are going to head to his sister's house so the garden can start being a work in progress. I need to pull out my rhubarb, onions, and some of the strawberries from the garden there. Hopefully then this next week we can get at least a couple of tomato and bell pepper plants to put in. I'm not planning a very large garden this first year. Soon I also need to get over to my daughter's bf's house and dig up my irises.

Until next week!
Marsha

WIP Wednesday 3/2/11

Good Wednesday to all and welcome to the weekly WIP post. WIP Wednesday is hosted by Every Day Crochet. Please click the button at the bottom of my post to join in the fun and see what others are working on.

For us it's been moving still. Today is the day to close on the house!!!!!
We are really nowhere close to being ready to move. I've been packing boxes for weeks. I've stepped it up this past week or so, but still so much to do!

I packed all my crafts away a week ago and had been working on making placemats for our table. You can see by the photo that I did get a set of 6 crocheted but only completed one. I have the fringe on the other 5 to go, but now they are packed to finish later. It's crunch time on moving!!!

You can see in the photos more boxes are packed in both rooms. Some of these are now in my car and he is taking apart desks and such to put in his vehicle. We will head straight to the house after closing today to drop what we can off. Then it will be home where we have steak in the crockpot for a quick supper. He has to get up at midnight tonight for work tomorrow and Jasmine and I have church activities tonight. We just want to get what we can over there. I wish closing was earlier in the day. I have a full day tomorrow but will get another car load of boxes over there. Friday we have to be there early early for the cable to be hooked up. I will take another load of boxes then. Saturday and Sunday we have a moving truck to use. Can you say exhausted!!

I find muself over committed on the computer but trying to work on the move and in between all the things that I do online.

Anyway, here are my photos for the week.
