Frugal Friday With Marsha -- Deals For You

Friday has hit again and it's time for me to find some deals for you.

I'm starting out with some coupons to print---and wanting to kick myself.  I'm including the coupons for the vacuum bags mostly for myself.  We recently got a vacuum that takes bags.  Just yesterday I bought bags for it.....and now I see that I could have saved 50 cents!  Don't you hate when that happens??

This sale comes along at the perfect time for me as we prepare for a camping trip, plus there are items I need to buy for a quilt retreat as well.  I can't wait to get in and get my shopping done and earn that 6% cash back!   What will you be buying?

WIP Wednesday -- No Sewing :(

You may have noticed that I didn't do a WIP post last week.  That's because I did absolutely no sewing at all.  This past week all I did was sew a few yo-yo's.    No, I didn't take a picture.

With the holiday things got rather hectic with extra activity.
Rather than miss another week of posting, I thought I would share some other pictures.

One thing was putting together a float with our church for the 4th of July parade.

The Sunday before the 4th we went to my middle daughters little town for their fireworks show.  Here are a couple of the good pictures I got:

My sunflowers this year took a beating and we lost a lot of them through a couple of bad storms, but I still love them.

I do have sit n' sew coming up this Friday evening.  If all goes as planned I will get the half square triangles pressed and squared up.
Then we have a camping trip the following weekend.  I will take the yo-yo's and hope to get some good work done on them.
Then, the weekend after that is my quilt guild's quilt retreat.  I sure hope to get a lot done there!!
Wish my luck!!

All photos are mine, and may not be used without my prior permission.

Frugal Friday With Marsha -- Deal For You

This has been a crazy week with the holiday!  I hope your 4th of July was great.  We had our usual family gathering with lots of our own fireworks.  Alas, that sure is a lot of money up in smoke though.  I was able to buy even any small things this year, but one of my granddaughters dad brought the mortar shells.  He gave the neighbors a run for their money on the show.
We always have a bbq then let the kids do their ground things such as the snakes and smoke bombs while we wait for it to be dark.
It's a great family time and lots of fun.

Fill Your Digital Downtime with The Origami Garden

Perfectly Mindful Origami - The Origami Garden

Origami is a good choice for that downtime away from technology.  This book is just what you need for that downtime.

Whether you know the art of origami, or if you are just a beginner, this book is for you.

The Origami Garden is set in 3 sections--Flowers and Plants, Fruits and Vegetables, and Garden Life.

Each project has step-by-step folding instructions that are also illustrated:

The books comes with 32 pieces of papers for the projects:

My middle daughter recently had her birthday and she chose The Origami Garden to be her gift from me.  She's always loved origami and over the years has made us all bouquets of flowers.  She picked this book quick saying "that's the one!"  She then commented about how now she will have all kinds of awesome things to make us for gifts.

She sat down after a long day of work and decided to start with the Tulip.

I have to say there are some really cool things in The Origami Garden.  Some flowers even also have pots to make for them!  In the Fruits and Vegetable section there is a mushroom, strawberries, pears and more.  In the Garden Life section there is a butterfly, frog, and birds.  In the Flowers and plants section besides the Tulip, you will find cactus, water lilies, roses, and many more.

This made the perfect gift for my daughter.  Who do you know that this would make the perfect gift for?

Disclosure:  I rec'd a copy of the book for the purpose of review.  I was not compensated in any other way and any opinions are my own.  Post contains affiliate links.

Stockpile-- Your Favorite Stocks By the Dollar

I'm sure there are many of you out there just like me.  You've wanted to start investing in the stock market and just didn't think you had the extra money to do so.  After all, the stocks you would like to buy are pretty expensive per share.

With Stockpile that is not a worry.  You can buy fractional shares!!  Yes, they earn just like full shares too.  (****Be sure to check out the special offer at the end of my post too****)
You never pay more than 99 cents per trade, whether you are buying, or selling.
The choices of stock to purchase seem endless.

I also know that many of you are also like me----you have those hard to buy for people on the gift list.  Buy them gift cards to Stockpile!
E-gift cards are available as well as physical cards.  There is no minimum to send an e-gift card, but there is a $2.99 plus 3% fee, so keep that in mind.   I fond that to send $5 would be $8.14.
Physical cards are available in many stores, but also at the Stockpile gift shop online.
Minimum gift card with the physical card is $25.  You can buy just one or you can buy many.   They offer the most popular stocks in sets.
Myself, if I was buying for a gift, I would choose the gift card that allows them to choose the stock of their choice.  With fees, the total price is $29.95 for one $25 card.  There is a small shipping charge, but if you buy 3 or more, shipping is free!

They say that the average gain per year in the stock market is 9.8% per year.  That means that you could be a millionaire by retirement if you start early.
Opening a custodial account for your children would just be awesome.  Start them out right.  Let them check it each day to see the gain or loss.

This is a screenshot of my account as of right now.  You will notice that my $25 in Disney stock is up, whereas the $5 in amazon is down.   It's fun and interesting to watch each day....exciting is another word for it.

You might also notice that I have put in more to amazon that is pending.  I found that the minimum to transfer from your bank account into your Stockpile account is $10.  I went ahead and bought the $9.01 in amazon so with the 99 cent trade fee it was the $10 even.

I see there is an option to buy with debit card, but I've not checked that out yet.  That's next on my list to do.

I have a lot to learn, but am learning more about it every day.

**********Now for that deal that I told you to watch for!!!
Use this link , sign up for your own Stockpile account, and receive $5 in free stock to get your started!
Please don't let this offer pass you by to get you started---this offer expires July 30,2017!!*********

In exchange for my honest and unbiased review, I received a $25 gift card to try out Stockpile. This post contains a referral link.
