WIP Wednesday -- No Sewing :(

You may have noticed that I didn't do a WIP post last week.  That's because I did absolutely no sewing at all.  This past week all I did was sew a few yo-yo's.    No, I didn't take a picture.

With the holiday things got rather hectic with extra activity.
Rather than miss another week of posting, I thought I would share some other pictures.

One thing was putting together a float with our church for the 4th of July parade.

The Sunday before the 4th we went to my middle daughters little town for their fireworks show.  Here are a couple of the good pictures I got:

My sunflowers this year took a beating and we lost a lot of them through a couple of bad storms, but I still love them.

I do have sit n' sew coming up this Friday evening.  If all goes as planned I will get the half square triangles pressed and squared up.
Then we have a camping trip the following weekend.  I will take the yo-yo's and hope to get some good work done on them.
Then, the weekend after that is my quilt guild's quilt retreat.  I sure hope to get a lot done there!!
Wish my luck!!

All photos are mine, and may not be used without my prior permission.

Frugal Friday With Marsha --- Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to all!

Being frugal on the 4th of July, or any holiday for that matter, isn't easy sometimes.

We are having a family get together at my daughters house. Each of us is pitching in a part for the meal. (I am making the potato salad)
Each family will buy a few little fireworks and we all have fun lighting them together.

Oh so much money going up in smoke. I can't imagine those who spend for the big spectacular fireworks! We are fortunate that people around us buy those. We get to watch their money go up in smoke.
I have saved out $20 for what I will spend.

We are heading out the door in a bit for some free entertainment of watching the parade.

How do you celebrate the holiday frugally?

SIS--Shares in Squidoo--Let's Celebrate the 4th of July

SHARES IN SQUIDOO

4th of July is just around the corner so I thought I would highlight lenses on the holiday this week.
I did some "snooping" around squidoo and here are the ones that I found that I really enjoyed:

BBQ Menu for 4th of July | Independance Day BBQ

4th of July Party Decorations, Favors and Supplies

Patriotic Cakes for 4th of July Celebrations

Free Patriotic Clip Art Images - 4th of July 2012 Clip Art & More!

I don't have a lens that is specifically 4th of July, but I would like to share my Giant Sunflowers lens today.  I've changed it to the new Patriotic theme, added a countdown, added a few more tags, and added in 3 more photos of our own sunflowers.  I hope you will enjoy it!

Sunday July 5

Good afternoon!
We got in from camp Friday after supper...then we had a birthday party for my grandson.
It was a nice week away from it all...and in the learning of the Word. I was happy to get home.
I was able to access the internet from camp (but not from our cabin). However, there was little time to actually get away to be online around all the activities so I didn't do my blog.

I have lots of photos and videos from camp to share on gather. I also still have most all the stuff from Bible school the week before to share.

I hope you all had a good 4th of July holiday. We cooked and swam all day. Family members were in and out all day eating and swimming. We watching the fireworks from the fairgrounds, and then still had homemade ice cream after those were over. It was a long day, but a great day with family.

I got my Our Unschooling Journey 3 squidoo lens updated for the week this morning.
I went and picked up my mail for the week from my mom's yesterday and got my Mail Call! Week of June 28 post done on gather too.

I'm going to do my best to get myself back into the routine that I need to be in for myself. I was able to get a lot of my coupons organized while at camp...I need to keep that up! I also got started on a crocheted quilt blanket. I need to work on crafts each day also.

We are supposed to be having our church picnic this afternoon. I want to go, but it's all cloud covered outside, raining off and on, and chilly in the wind. I think we will end up staying home and eating what I bought to take to the picnic.

Until tomorrow...have a blessed Sunday!
Marsha
