Wednesday March 25

Good Morning! I haven't been on the computer much this morning, concentrating more on the housework and now ready to start schoolwork with Jasmine.

On the way to take the girls to school Elizabeth had to call us. About half way there that rod went all the way out on the van. Now it's still sitting down there and I have no idea when we can get someone to pull it home for us. I also need prayers on coming up with the $300 we need to buy another engine for it.

I posted a book on blujay yesterday and have another one to post today. Both are new books that I've written book review squidoo lenses on. Yesterday's was With Violets

I didn't get anything extra into gather yesterday other than an article on the van breaking down.

I'm sad that we will have to now miss the Lenten service at church tonight, and once again I have to call and get a ride for the girls to Awanas. I think Jasmine and I will walk to the grocery store this afternoon for a few things. I think the weather will hold out for us today, but tomorrow is a real cool down with a chance of rain....Friday they are calling for even more of a cool down with a chance of snow. Oh boy....

I guess that's it for today's news. I need to check real quick to see what's supposed to be good deals at the grocery store. I looked at the ad but didn't see anything exciting.

Thursday March 5

Good Morning! High today is to be in the 80's...record high! It's 50 now so I do believe it will make it.
We didn't end up leaving the van at the shop yesterday. The mechanic said with the rod going out I would just be wasting my money replacing the bearing as in 2-3 months the rod will misshape and wear it out again. We are opting now for buying another motor to put in it.
The mechanic said I'm not going to hurt it anymore than it already is by continuing to drive it. It will eventually go all the way out, but hopefully not before we get the motor replaced. Please continue to pray that we get this whole thing worked out.

I will be taking Elizabeth, my oldest daughter, for a sonogram today. That will tell us a due date closer to being correct as well as maybe the sex of the child. She is hoping for another boy. Allen is hoping mom has a boy too.

Wednesday March 4

Good Morning! I'm running behind, which is pretty much par for the course. However, I've got my grocery shopping done, and the daily housework is done. I'm getting ready to take the girls to school then take the van in to the shop. Now we are thinking it's the fuel regulator that might be out as well as the bearings. I'm just praying that they are able to fix those things, and that with selling my other van for junk I am able to pay for the repairs. As well as that it solves the problem and I will have a reliable vehicle. Say some prayers with me.

I need to get into squidoo today and update my lenses that have monthly specials that change. It should have already been done since today is the 4th! I did update my lensography yesterday to add my newest lenses. Marsha's Lensography I need to update the photos there at another time.

I also did get some coupons cut and sorted yesterday. I hope to work on that more today here and there. The store is having the buy 10 items get $5 off special again, however, they only have a few of the items listed in the flyer. I did the one on the pints of ice cream this morning. I bought 30 for a total of $14.70...yum!

Better run, almost time to get the girls to school and the van to the shop.

Tuesday March 3

Good Morning!
Strange morning. It's my mom's social security payday and yet another month she is having to find rides from several others as I have no way to take her around town. I called the guy I bought the van from yesterday. I'm to take the van in to the shop tomorrow for them to check out. However, he is no longer offering to refund my money (of which I wouldn't expect a full refund after driving it for 3 weeks), but if they can fix the o rings I do have to pay him. Say a little prayer over it for me please. I'm upset over once again not having transportation. It was great to drive again and be able to participate at church again and things.

I did more catching up in my gmail all day yesterday but now I have to not work on that today since it's bowling night.
I did, however, get my 50th lens built on squidoo! I put my email request in to apply for giant squid. I won't hear back on it until sometime in April. It's another book review lens. Sidetracked Home Executives Book Review

I've really lapsed in the 2 weeks on working on cutting and organizing my coupons. I'm sitting here this morning cutting and filing what I can. I'm rather frustrated with all that needs to be done and finding the time to do all that I want and need to do.

Good Morning! I don't know about the weather. It's a cold, crisp, windy day out there now under a blue sky. It was a nice spring like day yesterday, but last night the winds were so high they were howling through the house.

All my plans today have to do with the computer...updating at squidoo, doing what I can on gather. While one here I will be crocheting on one of the other plarn patterns I want to try. I cut the plastic bags for it yesterday.

I got 2 magnetic bracelets made and listed on blujay yesterday. Therefore I decided to update my blujay squidoo lens. Marsha's Blujay

I'm excited to be able to drive to church tomorrow morning! As of now, the van is still running, and I am still praying it continues to run until April when my son is out and can assess it...as well as while I try to save the money up needed towards getting it fixed!

Today will be short and sweet so that I can move on to my other projects.

Good Morning!
Looks like I have to take my mom back to her chiropractor this morning, he didn't adjust her right. I also have to take my granddaughter for shots this afternoon since my daughter can't do the needles.

I'm sitting here this morning while I work online finishing up the rest of the magnetic bracelets to get them listed on blujay. I need to keep busy on the crafts and getting them listed in hopes of selling some things. It's going to take a lot of sales to get that motor fixed in the van.

Monday February 16

Good Morning, almost noon! It wasn't until about supper time last night that I realized I hadn't typed in my daily blog.
Valentines day went well. Steve took me out to dinner, then we watched a movie, and he bought me a quilt mat.
Yesterday was just a strange day...I did a lot online, but not near the things that I usually do.

I got the van back. He insists he really needs to give me my money back but to drive it a bit longer while it's running since I need transportation. Who knows...I want to keep it and try to figure out how to replace the rod since the body and interior are in great shape.

oh oh Friday the 13th!
I'm not having luck with the van I bought, I know that. It had to be towed in to their shop this morning as when I came out of my church meeting last night something was wrong in the ignition and it wouldn't start. You can read my post this morning at gather on it if interested: Just My Dumb Luck

I've not done anything much with squidoo this week, I've just been away from home more than here, other than sleeping this week.
In fact, not much housework has been done too. I think, though, I will mostly be online today and work on other things tomorrow after I have had a chance to catch up some online. I do have to go out today when my granddaughter gets her shots...momma can't do shot time.

Thursday February 12

Good morning. This week has been busy busy busy. Today in no different.
I took my grandson to school. I am about to head out to pick up my daughter's commodity food. I have to get to pay the car insurance and then to the court house to turn in the title and transfer the tag. I've decided to keep the van. I got some suggestions on how to get the knocking in the motor lower....and despite the fact that it quits a few times now and then when you put it in gear, at least it is getting us where we need to go. This afternoon I have to take my mom to her dr appt, then make a trip to buy the rebate stuff at Walgreens. This evening I have church council meeting.
I can happily say that other than maybe taking my grandson to school tomorrow morning, I shouldn't have any other places to go tomorrow!

Good Morning. The weather took a turn from yesterday. Now they are saying snow this morning, but still a high in the 50's so it will melt soon away. Yesterday was just gorgeous..it's hit just over 70, and with a slight breeze. Jasmine and I walked to the grocery store and to the dollar store. On the way home I stopped at a small used car garage and asked what he could sell me for the $500 I had in my wallet. I came home with a 1986 Safari van. I wrote up an article on gather about it, asking opinions on whether I should keep it or take it back. I got mixed opinions for sure...some say congrats, some say good deal for the money, others say take it back, or it can't be worth anything for so little money. I hope you will take a look at the article and also give me your opinion. The Van that I Bought

I was disappointed this morning to find that I had only made $1.52 for December with squidoo. I think I know why though....I don't know when, but they changed it where it didn't automatically set you to all cash, while building the lens you had to go in and mark that. I didn't discover it until about 20 lenses later...they are all set for cash now. I got so busy walking to the store, then buying a van, then bowling in the evening that I barely did anything online yesterday.
I'm so tired this morning that after I type this I am going back to bed for a bit.

Jasmine is excited that I will be able to take her to Awana's this evening. My oldest daughter needs a ride to take care of some medical card stuff. Heather has a dr. appt, this afternoon. It will be another busy day with little time on the computer!

Thursday January 8

Good morning.
It's off to work I go again this morning. And, they asked if I can work Friday if needed as well. I sure will be glad when this week is over.
Thankfully, the weather has been great for winter this week...I'm in a frustrated enough mood already LOL
Despite working I've pretty well stayed on track with my goals and plans here on the computer. I've still managed to get through all my paid to clicks, listed an item on blujay, worked in gather, worked in squidoo, etc. For that I am grateful.

I tried having the van jump started yesterday thinking that since the weather isn't freezing I would just put water in the radiator and drive it. Well, the battery didn't even stay up for 2 hours before it was totally dead again. So much for that plan.

I have to do grocery shopping today. I wish I could get out to Aldi's. I also have groceries that I want to get at Wal-Mart as well. Hopefully I can get to both of those places before the weekend is up. In the meantime, I have my list ready and my coupons ready for Dillon's today.

Thursday December 4

Good Morning! When I was outside there wasn't any wind...no wind would sure make the day a lot more bearable as far as the cold goes.
My daughters boyfriend is going to Wichita again to have his broken ankle checked. Good thing today is the day the gal that's giving me a ride to work gets off the same time as I do. We already talked to them at math tutoring and told them we probably wouldn't have a way to get Heather there. Mom will have to find a ride to the doctor today.
Mom just really seems to not understand how aggravating it is for her to keep calling and calling for rides places. Then, if the ride isn't here right away she is callng them back. You can't just expect people to jump because you need to go somewhere and it's a LOT to ask for a ride for her to go to her doctor twice a week. (I personally think he is a quack that just takes people's money)
As I said, not having a vehicle wouldn't be near as bad if we weren't coming into the cold and snow and ice season.

Tuesday December 2

Good Morning! Looks like the high today is supposed to be 60º but tomorrow the high drops back down to 39º. Better enjoy today while we can.
I found a daily ride to work each day this month with another gal that works in the kitchen. I have 11 more days of work this month then I am done!! I turned in my official resignation yesterday. Just doing that took a weight off my shoulders.
I am calling it a giant leap of faith, but I know that God will provide.

I got some of the Christmas gifts wrapped and under the tree last night. I think the only stuff I need to worry about buying yet is some little things from the dollar store for the grandkids. That and a couple more of the $1 rolls of wrapping paper. I'm hoping my wellness360 check will get here this week so that I can get that last shopping done.

In other news, Heather has her math tutoring today, so I am hoping I get no grief from my daughter and her boyfriend on getting her there and back. It might be warm enough to chance taking the van, however, it's not been started since last Wednesday so I'm willing to bet the battery is dead. This evening is also bowling league, something I look forward to each week.

Tuesday November 25

Good Morning.
They didn't show up to take Allen to school...oh my gosh, couldn't even make it just 2 days this week. This really upsets me, he has to be late again to wait for another ride and soon we will get that letter about how being late so many times is also truancy and will be turned in to child services...just what we don't need is a visit from them!
They did show up and take me to work and pick me up from work yesterday...guess if they don't show up today I will just take the van.

It's going to be a strange Tuesday without all the normal appts. All I have today is work and bowling. And, after bowling I can stay up as late as I like on here since there is no school or work tomorrow...that will be a great change.

I've already warned the kids that we will be cleaning tomorrow. We need to decide if we are putting the Christmas tree down here in the basement or cleaning a corner upstairs in the living room for it. Either way I don't expect to work alone.

Wednesday November 19

Good Morning.
My daughter didn't show up to take Allen to school. I took the van, which was not smart. I put water in it before leaving, which all of it was out by the time I got back home....or well, the rest of it spewed out in to the driveway. The whole motor is covered with anti-freeze.
No one picked me up from work yesterday so I ended up walking home. I don't have a ride to work tomorrow so I do plan on taking the van as the high is only 40! Just say a prayer that I make it there and back.
Regardless of the money, I think it's time for me to put in my 2 week notice to quit. I'm not going to make enough to get another vehicle anyway and I can't expect someone to take me and pick me up each day....and they aren't reliable to do so anyway. I will not walk to work in winter! That measly $8.56 an hour I get is just not worth it and I only work 3 hours a day, 4 days a week on a full Headstart week.

I've been working daily on crafts and trying to list something each day that I can. I have enough supplies on hand right now to do several crafts too.
I am waiting on a reply back from the owner of homeschoolbuy to see if he is going to truly fix the glitch in the auctions. If he doesn't soon then I am moving all those books over to blujay as well.

I'm paying attention and doing more of the survey sites. And, I did get in on the Ghiradelli chocolate with shespeaks!!

I did decide for sure to cancel my paid membership with winster. Since I can't earn enough points in a month to cover the $5 then I just can't do it. It will take some pressure off anyway and free up time. I can play as a free player when I have the extra time in the day and still eventually earn enough points.

I've been pretty much keeping up with cutting and sorting my coupons. This will help a lot on saving money.

I guess I will quit going on for today, only an hour left now before I have to get off to work. I will be safe today and walk since the weather is decent.

Monday November 17

Good Morning.
The bad news is that my son did come and get the hood open. He fixed the latch on that, but found the radiator to be dry. When refilling it he discovered the water pump is leaking. So it's not the thermostat as I suspected as he said it was going whacko since it was reading air with an empty radiator.
Let's see.....I would rather spend that $100+ towards buying something else (if I even had it). The van has so many other problems, like the exhaust system being held up with hangers, neither door opening from the outside, the rack and pinion being held together with a dog chain and bolt, whatever he found wrong with the chassee and more.

On a craft note, I started crocheting the hair scrunchies yesterday, they seem tobe coming out cute. I will make what I need for Christmas presents, then list the rest of blujay.

I don't have a gather post to share today. I tried again to post a video there with no luck. It went through and processed but when I hit submit it didn't go through.

I'm going to get started on what I can on here before work...which looks like I have to walk, so please say a prayer for me that I do ok there.

Sunday November 16

Good Morning.
My son couldn't get the hood open on my van yesterday to see what the problem is. We have rides coming to get the 8 of us to church this morning. It's Allen's first communion today and pastor wanted to make sure none of us missed it.

I finished up the order of dish scrubbies yesterday. Today I am going to mess around and see if I can make some crocheted hair scrunchies. These will make nice gifts for the girls on my Christmas list and if they turn out nice will be a new addition to the crafts that I sell.

I cashed out at spotwinner yesterday for $10 amazon. It's a fun site and I look forward to starting over again on points to cash out again. All amazon I earn is going to save to buy a laptop.

Saturday November 15

Good morning!
Not much going on today. I would like to go shop at Walgreens as they are offering the coupon for $5 off $20 purchase. However, my rebate money isn't on my gift card from last month, and I am just not happy with what they are offering in this month's rebate booklet.
I have to wait for my son to come over some time today and check out the van. The hood latch broke so that is the first thing is the get the hood open. Then, something is whacko with the thermostat and it bounces all around and I am getting no heat. After one trip out yesterday it was smoking and smelling like antifreeze bad.

I'm in the process once again of trying to put in a video with no luck. I've tried the Willo in the leaves one a couple more times with no luck either, and it's the cutest.

I think I will concentrate today on using up my 1200 spins on winster and see how many points I can get. I am wondering though if I shouldn't cancel my paid membership and just play as a free member when I have time. It will renew again on the 18th. I sure like the 4 times the points for being a member, and also that you can log in and collect your spins and not lose them if you don't use them. It just takes so long to play and I can't do anything else on the computer at the same time due to the lag.

Wednesday November 12

Good chilly morning to all. It's freezing here right now, but supposed to get up to a high of 55. I don't like scraping ice in the morning. And, it appears the thermostat has now gone out in the van, and it jumps to 200 degrees within driving a block and the heater or defroster never does get warm. It shouldn't be the heater core, as we replaced that this past February.

I don't have any real plans other than work today. Well, after work I need to go to the bank and cash my Jerky Direct check and head to Wal-Mart to buy netting. I do also need to get this poster of mom's that I sold wrapped and taken to the post office to mail.

Today I will share my The Vision Board book review on gather. The Vision Board Book Review Any views help me to earn more points on gather. I am currently just under 500 pts away from my next $50 in Amazon.

Friday November 7

Good Morning.
I slept in this morning and getting a late start on my internet stuff. I started out by trying to load a video to gather...it's at 90% so I don't know yet it if will go in. I tried 4 times yesterday. Maybe if I restart my computer I would have better luck or maybe it's just a problem with gather.

Liz's boyfriend thinks I've thrown a rod in the front end of the van and he's probably right. I clicked my heart out yesterday in my paid to clicks and will do the same today. Plus I got another book listed at homeschoolbuy and will list another today.
I got an order for 10 dish scrubbies, but I can't find the colors that she wants to match her kitchen. I will get them made and hope they are ok, she said to do the best I can.

I've gotten almost all my coupons cut and sorted. I got my grocery list made and I'm on track to get matching coupons for the sale. The store is doing the buy 10 items get $5 additional off your bill and you can do this up to 3 times in one transaction. I work hard to try to buy 30 of the items for $15 additional off plus to have coupons for all 30 items as well.

The download stuck at 90%, but I did share some photos of Willo's fun in the leaves and have photos for a few more photo essays. Guess I will worry about those now. Here is the one I did yesterday. She was having so much fun playing in those leaves. Fun In The Leaves Part 1 Photos
