WIP Wednesday 10/19/11--Keep on Working

I've still been working this past week on the dish scrubbies.  Just one more to make to complete my orders.  I've also been crocheting the washclothes for an order.
We had a garage sale so I went in to my craft room and emptied my shelves of supplies into totes and boxes.  I wanted the shelves in the garage to hold the books that I have for sale.  In the meantime I packed up a container with "to-do" projects.  It's pictured with the washcloths I am working on and includes 3 fabric bags to make, baby bibs, pieces for another quilt top for church, material to cut in to strips for my next jelly roll type quilt, and material to make a table runner.
I spent 2 days this past week finishing up the 54 squares for the quilt top I am currently working on for church.  If you remember, we had 13 of them complete last week in club.  That means I put together 41 more at home.  They aren't complete as they still need to be ironed and cut to size before I can start sewing them together.  For now they are put up with plans to work more on them at club next month.
Looks that is my report for this week....I really want to finish up the last 4 washcloths today as well as the 1 dish scrubbie and get those orders out.

Shop Hop--Restructuring Plan

This post is a day late but I'm getting there.
I've been thinking of some restructuring.

Last week I sold 2 more books on half.com.  I also listed several more up for sale.
My plan is to take the books, or most of them, that I have listed over on blujay and add them to half.com.  Also, same with the books on homeschoolbuy.  My auctions at homeschoolbuy have all expired.  There are over 1000 members on homeschoolbuy yet I've been the only one with listings for a long time now.

Some of the books that have been listed at both places I will be donating to a fundraising rummage sale.  The sale is for the youth group that Jasmine (my daughter) has been going to.  They are going on a trip to England in March.

I've been working on crochet orders this past week, but did manage to get 1 set of washcloths listed in my etsy store.  I had to buy colors and then make them to get the ok on colors for one of the orders I am working on.

WIP Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  It's time to share WIP's (works in progress) in conjunction with Every Day Crochet.  Please click the button at the bottom to join in on the fun.

Your WIP doesn't have to be crafts, it can be anything!

I didn't get much more done on the rug, but it is almost done.  I got nothing more done on the hot pads I am making for Christmas.  And, I didn't get material cut for my next quilt like I wanted to either.  I have orders I've been working on, including one that is a barter.  I made 2 crocheted headbands and a crocheted ear warmer in trade for tart melts. (not pictured)

See the mess of netting on my desk?  I've been in the midst of making 10 dishscrubbies for a friend's order, 3 for another order, and have 6 yet to make for another order.  I'm also trying to get as many made in advance as I can to have a bunch for sale at the monster garage sale.
This is as far as I've gotten on one order, and that was buying the material and netting for this order of scrubbies and fabric bags.  I will get the bags all pinned today and ready to sew.
My daughter got a job with hours that makes me have to get the kids to school each morning.  This is going to take me some getting used to.  For one thing it means crawling out of bed almost 2 hours earlier than I have been!  It also means time away from home as well.  Wish me luck with it.

I am still in the process of finishing up that book to review.  Almost done reading it.  I also have an ebook to read that will be given away on my blog soon.

Busy Busy Busy....seems there is no other way for me.

WIP Wednesday

Welcome to WIP (work in progress) Wednesday, hosted by Every Day Crochet.

To play along on Work-in-Progress Wednesday, make your blog post for Wednesday be about something you're working on - some type of craft, renovation project, landscaping, even that novel you're writing. You can play along even if it’s not Wednesday; she leaves each WIP up until the following week.

Click the button at the end of my post to add your own, or just go see what others are up to.  It's a lot of fun!

Always a good distraction, this past week I had 2 orders to work on.  One, a lady at church wanted a small rug to use to put her dog's food dishes on.  The other was an online order for 4 dish scrubbies.

I didn't get anything done on the quilts past getting some of the materials into the living room to start cutting....as pictured below.  Ignore the rugs next to it.  The one is what I am using for a chair cushion since it was my first attempt and a mess up.  The other is my first one out of t-shirts, which also bowed, but I starched it down and am now using it in front of the entertainment center.  Since taking the photo late last night, I did get the material cut to make a Scooby Doo bag, which is also an online order.

Below you will see a toothbrush rug that I completed...the first one that didn't bow.  Go me!!  I finally got it right!  I had thought it was big enough and ended it off.  I'm thinking now I should have kept going.  I am still going to put it up for sale.   I then started another one with material that was laying on my desk.  Past the material you see laying beside it, finishing it will have to wait until I get at least one quilt done to see if I have more sheets to work with.

And, I am still working on this prayer shawl....I'm guess it will be 2 more weeks before it's completed.  I only work on it just a bit each day.

I'm off now to check out the other WIPs...please click the button and join in on the fun.

Saturday July 18

Good Morning!
Yesterday I started out the morning leaving to take my son to court. I then got the title to my car finally. I wasn't home long when my mom called wanting to go back to the dr. Again, not home long before it was time to take my son to an appt. then to work. By that time I realized I hadn't written my blog but it was later in the afternoon.

I got an order for 10 more dish scrubbies yesterday. This is in addition to the 10 I need to get done for my friend here in town. I will need to make a trip to Wal-Mart for materials. The first order has been done for days but so far there is still no invoice in my craft mall account so that I know where to send it to. I'm feeling bad...I like to be prompt with sending out orders.
Speaking of that...I also got an order on blujay yesterday too. It's for something that's in a box I haven't gotten moved over here yet. That means that while I am out today a trip to my mom's and bring more things is also in order.

Gathers pages are loading so slow since the upgrade Thursday evening. I would think it's the wireless connection except that all other pages are loading fine. I did get my 2 posts done yesterday as well as put in another video from our Bible school. I did a lot of commenting despite the slow loading pages.

I updated 2 lens on squidoo yesterday.. My Coupon/Refund Story and Kansas--Our First Lapbook.

We've not been able to swim since Tuesday because of the rains. I'm hoping it stays clear today so we can get in. I started doing exercises in the water and I think they were doing me some good.

Guess I better grab my shower and get my own running done before someone calls for me to take them places. I also want to get the sewing machine out and work a little on my quilt.

Have yourself one great Saturday!

Saturday November 29

Good Morning! We are having our first snow. It's huge flakes but they aren't sticking to anything. Neat to look at even if I don't like the cold.
I am heading out to the store. I need to get a few things to help with the lunch at church tomorrow that the youth are hosting and get eye drops for Jasmine. She's somehow gotten pink eye.

The online party went well enough yesterday, several came in and out throughout the day. I got 3 orders. Specials are extended through Cyber Monday when we will also be having another chat party. When I know the hours for that I will post them. More prizes will be given away. I hope to get in a few more orders. It was a lot of fun to be online and working on the orders at the same time. All 3 orders are in the mail today.

Here is one of my photo posts from gather yesterday. Thanksgiving at my son's house. I didn't end up getting everyone pictured but still got some good shots. Thanksgiving at My Son's House with Photos

It's back to work clicking on here for me...got to earn that van! I am in hopes with income tax refund and what I can earn between now and then that I will have a vehicle by the end of February.

Have a great day!

Thursday October 9

Happy birthday to my Jasmine today! She is now 12 years old and hasn't been my baby anymore for some time.
We got to the store last night and bought her ice cream. We got hamburger patties and hot dogs, the buns, and the fixings for the bbq she wants to have. We still have to get her cake today. I have a potato salad recipe that I printed from a gather post that I want to try out too.

I made it to work and back yesterday with the help of Steve. Later in the day the other guys came and got the donut spare put on my van to find that it was pretty flat. They got air in it and this morning it's still up thank goodness. I hope I can get by driving on it until payday next week. Jasmine and I walked to the store and shopped while they were working on it then they came to pick us and the groceries up.

The party went well for me last night even though very few were there. I got 2 orders for Jerky and a total of 12 dish scrubbies ordered. with making the scrubbies and the hotpads and coasters that I gave as a prize I will be busy this next week. Want to check out the Jerky for yourself? It's the best around. As of the 1st of this month I am doing the Jerky only with my business. Jerky Direct
I also won another prize last night bringing me to a total of 6 for the event! And....I also was drawn to win the grand prize. The 4 days of partying ended up being a real blessing for me and will sure be a great help as I am gathering items to give for Christmas.

I am off to see if I can get in some spins over at winster. The last few days I've only been there about long enough to log in and gather up my spins for the day. I was very impressed with winster! When I cashed out for my $5 amazon, within minutes I had the code.

Take care all and wish Jasmine a Happy Birthday today.
