WIP Wednesday -- Is There Progress?

I missed posting last week.  I didn't mean to miss, just totally forgot.  I was in Dodge City with my hubby.....which is where I am heading again for a couple of days......pretty much right after I get this written.

The week before I mostly worked on getting tissue box covers and pin cushion/scrap bags made.  I needed to complete them to turn in at guild for the boutique booth in June.

I made a total of 4 of the pin cushion scrap bags, but forgot to take a picture except of this one that I made for myself.

Here are the 3 tissue covers that I made to turn in.   I do plan on these being what I make this year for the adults on my Christmas list.

I went to "get r' done" at the quilt shop and now my Charming Stars quilt is ready to have the binding sewn on.

I got the flannel out that I had bought on the bus trip and got a little more done on the 2 rag quilts that I am making.  Once again they are at a stand still until I run across more flannel.

That's it for me.  I link up with the following blogs, so check them out as well. Lots of things being made and inspiration to be had.

WIP Wednesday 10/22/14

Somehow I'm not feeling as productive in the area of sewing this week.   I only have 2 pictures to show you this week.

Let's start off with my hexagons.  I'm working with brown, black and gray on the soscrappy challenge. (See button at the bottom of my post).
I stopped making them in to flowers because I needed to free up pins for other projects.  I did get all that I had papers pinned to put together.  Hopefully this week I will get at least a few of these made in to complete flowers.
Then I completed 4 more Charming Stars blocks for this month and the sewalong with Terry's Treasures. (See button to the right)
I have them hanging on the 'design wall' now.    I'm enjoying these blocks.   I already told the quilt shop owner that I intend to put the top completely together for this at the upcoming retreat November 7th and 8th.   It will be here soon and I'm so excited!
Wait!!  I did do more sewing than this.   I knew I had to have!    I finished up 7 more of the Halloween bags.   The giveaway for the bandanas is over, but I will soon be putting up a post with step by step instructions on making the trick-or-treat bags.

Here is my UFO list........ I was looking in my sewing room for one thing last night.  I was going through my too many to count bags that either have these UFO's in them, or projects that I've not started yet.  My mind was boggled.   It's not even been that long since I made up all of these bags of projects yet I still had forgotten about some of them.  I need to get busy and STAY busy.

WIP Wednesday 10/8/14

I think I have been pretty productive this week in my sewing  :)
I will keep saying that I hope I can keep this up.  If so, I will really start to get things done.

Let's start out with the sewalong with Terry's Treasures.  (See button on the right)  It's a Charming Stars quilt.  I am using from my stash to make it.
We are to make 4 blocks a month, so here are my 4 for September.  I do have all of my fabrics cut and I have all of the star point squares sewn as well.

I have worked more on the doll blanket, pillow and rug sets that I am making.  I came to a stand still as I need to get the boxes that I want to make into the beds.   I need to make a bed to know for sure the size of the blankets.

This month with the soscrappy blog the challenge colors are brown, black and gray.  This picture is most of my hexagons in those colors.  I will be working here and there on my hexagons throughout the month getting as many of those colors done around working on other projects. (See button at the bottom of my post)

Lastly, I am working on finishing up the 34 hotpads.  Most of these will be used for Christmas gifts.
I had planned to take these to sit n' sew this Friday like I have the past few months at the quilt shop, but then decided that I want to take all my lined bags and get as many of those made as possible instead.   Some of the lined bags will also be used for Christmas.

Christmas is right around the corner!!   I've started highlighting crafts that I have made as gifts in my Frugal Friday blog posts now.  How fun!

This is m UFO list, but not everything that I am working on is included in the list.

WIP Wednesday 10/1/14

It's October already!  Christmas is right around the corner.  Time to kick making those gifts in to high gear.    Starting this week I will be highlighting gifts that I've made in the past in my Frugal Friday posts.    I'm hoping to give some inspiration to others, but also to motivate myself to get busy making gifts.

Here are the things that I've been working on this past week:

First of all, attempting to sort through that popcorn tin of 2 1/4 inch squares.   I don't know what possessed me to think that just 2 pizza boxes would be enough to organize them.   When I took that first picture I still have over half of the popcorn tin to to sort through.
I'm going to just have to stack them as best I can in the boxes to get them all out of the tin and into the boxes for easier viewing of what I have.

The second picture is a current project with those 2 1/4 inch squares.   I am making doll rugs with selvage size strips and blankets and pillows with the squares.
I will be making one set for my 3 r old granddaughter, and in hopes of putting at least one set in my etsy shop.

This is my progress so far on the Charming Stars sew along with Terry's Treasures.   I'm thinking that before I complete blocks that I want to have all of these pieces done.  I have 30 done so far.  If I'm correct there are 64 of these parts.
You can click the button to the right for more information on the sew along.

I'm anxious to get over to the soscrappy blog and see what this months color is!

I didn't get my UFO list completely updated, but here it is.   I have a quilt retreat coming up November 7 and 8.  Do you think I can wipe out some of this list those 2 days?

UFO's:

Rectangle quilt
challenge wall hanging
GoodNight Irene quilt/wall hanging
Yo-Yo Table runner
Emerald Island Fusique table runner
Five and Dime quilt
34 Hot Pads (8 done)
Christmas bags (total of at least 25) (2 done)
Charming Stars quilt
Brown half square triangle quilt
? sets of doll blanket, pillows and rug

This is the book that I purchased at our local quilt shop that I hope to dive in to for making gifts from my stash!
