Squidoo Hopping--Today a Module Question

I want to start off this post with a module question.  I asked in one of the facebook groups last night.
Is there a limit of only so many of one module within a lens?   I was trying to update my Charity Donations lens again to add 10 more charities, but the donations module was no where in sight!   If there is a limit then I will have to do these in parts, but I'm pretty sure there isn't a limit.

I didn't get a new lens built this week.  You know the saying about the best of intentions.  It's just so busy right now with Christmas!

I did update my Trunk or Treat lens ---which should have been updated right after Halloween, actually should have come home Halloween night and put the photos in!  I only chose 10 of all the ones we took to add.
I added 2 more books to the Learning About Greece lens.  It will be awhile before I add more.  We have 2 books left to read that we had picked out, but we returned them to the library until after the holidays.  I like Ruth's suggestion of making the What We Have Learned into a link list as well.  That could be an update until we get back to reading...we will see.
I also updated my Blankets for Christmas lens.  Next up will be Crafts as Gifts that I had hoped to get to this week.  I'm really going to need to open up a new Crafts as Gifts, because that one is getting too full, plus I've made a vow to make all gifts homemade next year.

I'm going to close for this week by wishing you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Squidoo Hopping--Payday

Yep, yesterday was squidoo payday.  I didn't make enough last month to get paid.  I did get paid yesterday, but ended up making less than I had the month before.  Must have been a couple of months when I really didn't do much with squidoo.  I'm trying to work squidoo more to ensure I at least reach payout each month, but I really need to be a lot more!  I know others are highly successful at squidoo.  I'm using 2 groups in facebook and learning some things from there.

I finally did a search on how to find your facebook identifier number and was able to plug it in to the facebook fanpage module.  Woo Hoo!  It's working now.  I only have it in my Homeschool Books Used 2011/2012 lens so far.  There are only a few of my lenses where I feel it's appropriate it in, but that is on my to-do list.

I got to work on my Charity Donations lens.  I still have a long ways before all the charities are listed.  I found that when adding modules from the sidebar I can't add more than 10 at a time of any one module.  So, that is where I am starting with, 10 at a time.  After each 10 I am putting in "A word from our sponsor" and using the affiliate  modules----is that tacky?  So far I'm putting in products that have to do with volunteers.

Another book added to Learning About Greece.  We still have 4 books to read  before it's complete, so it will be ongoing for awhile.

I updated my Guns n' Roses lens after reading in our paper that they made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Checked the videos while I was there, they all still work.  Sometimes in my music lenses when I check a video that I had in is no longer available on youtube so I have to replace it.

That's it for me this week.  Remember, if you don't blog about squidoo, I am now allowing you to link up one or two of your lenses instead in the linky.  I really want to see this grow.  Keep me busy with squidoo!

Homeschool Journal--Finally a Good Week

Finally we had a good full school week this past week.  My tracking book and times look great.  We made it through every subject 4 days last week!

We are taking a little bit of a math break.  Jasmine is doing problems daily on the dry erase board, but otherwise we have been watching videos and reading out loud in a book put out by Barnes and Noble called Basics--Saving Money.  In the Introduction to Business text book there is always a section at the end of each chapter that also is a bunch of math too.  After the holidays we will hit it hard again.

We are still reading books about Greece.  We have 4 books yet to finish.  Some are smaller, but the photos in them are great.  We are getting repeat lessons from different books, but that's ok...drilling it in to our heads more.  I'm wondering what country she will want to learn more about next.  It was going to be England because her youth group was planning a trip there in March.  They weren't able to raise all of the money needed for the trip so they are not going to be able to go.  They will go somewhere in the states now.

I don't have any photos to share yet again this week of Jasmine.  I told her that I need to work on that.

This week is going to be another good week for schoolwork, then we are pretty much taking off the next 2 weeks.  There are some things we will still do daily such as our devotions and some reading here and there.  Next week will be candy making and baking week.  I will get lots of pictures then!

I'm going to stop babbling for now.  We are about to head out the door to church for our weekly Tuesday morning Bible study.  Then it's off for our weekly trip to the public library.

Squidoo Hopping--All Those Wishlists!

Wishlists seems to be the in thing right now with Christmas around the corner......and all the lenses of lists for boys, girls, moms, etc etc.
I made my own--Grandma's Christmas Wishlist.  I just updated it to add in 2 more things I remembered last night.   This, is also my goal list as I won't get any of it as gifts.  Ok, so my goal list is where I came up with the list to begin with  LOL   I wonder if any of my choices are on your list?

I also updated Learning About Greece to add in a couple more photos and 2 more books.  I am adding a new picture for each book we finish.  We  still have 5 books to read about Greece so this one will continue to grow.

Homeschool--Books Used For 2011/2012 was at the bottom of the list with a ranking close to 500,000---yikes!  I added another photo there and another book....and a black box module directing to the Learning About Greece lens.  It's somehow moved to a rank of 140,000 which is cool.

I still can't get the facebook fan page module to work.  I still need to totally re-do my etsy lens.  My etsy store is looking slim since when items expire I am moving them to zibbet instead of paing to re-list them in etsy.  Also, I have been selling things---3 orders in the past 2 days.   I'm going to put in my zibbet banner to direct them there when I update it.  Typing this is making me want to stop everything else and go get that done.  I will make that a to-do for today, definitely!

In the meantime, I do hope to see several link ups this week.  Isn't squidoo great?

Squidoo Hopping--Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of squidoo hopping. I hope this post finds you are preparing for a great day with family and friends.
We are about to put the turkey on and the green bean casserole in the crockpot.

I did do some squidoo work this past week:
I built a new day in history lens. This Day in History August 13. This one in honor of my granddaughter, Ariel's birthday. I am getting closer to having enough to build my placeholder lens to list them in order by month.

I updated the following lenses:
Learn About Greece
Online Parties
Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center

I'm spending a lot more time in the 2 squidoo groups that I belong to on facebook. Spending more time meaning trying to list my own lenses and look at the ones that others are listing.

I'm going to hurry along, but I would like to invite you all to the Christmas celebration with the online craft mall. I am promoting my crafts on Monday and Friday.

And a cute Thanksgiving graphic too.

Homeschool Journal--Plugging Along

I can't say that we had the best of week's as far as book work, but it was a good week.

The grandkids were out of school Friday for Veteran's Day.  I didn't figure we would get much schoolwork done with 5 kids in the house.  It ended up that her youth group decided to meet for the day since there was no school.  They had a 6 hour or so get together.  It's good for her to go and socialize with kids her own age, so in the long run I was glad she got to go.

Tuesday was sewing club at church for me.  Usually we can't get Jasmine involved in helping with anything.  We make quilts that we give to the Domestic violence center and meet once a month from 10-3.  Jasmine still attends the Bible study upstairs and then comes downstairs with us.  Once she is downstairs we have lunch.  She brings schoolwork in her backpack for the afternoon.  This time we talked her into doing some tracing of letters for us.  We are making a banner for the church's 125th anniversary next year.

She did end up doing some math once she was done cutting out the letters.  I would actually much prefer she spent the afternoon helping us cut material, tie quilts, and learning to sew.

We are still reading books about Greece.  The current book we are reading is Teens in Greece.  I planned on moving on to England next since her youth group is supposed to make a trip to England in March.  However, they still need $6000 to make the trip so now they are talking about going to Disney World instead.  We may still study England, time will tell on that I guess.

I am super busy working on quilts and things each day now.  It's something I have to do for myself and for our money situation.  I've decided we will start picking up educational DVD's at the library each week again.  If nothing else those can work in with history and science for times when I am working.  I read a lot out loud to Jasmine in our studies.  It's the way she learns best.

I'm going to move on this week as we need to head out the door to Bible study for this week.

Squidoo Hopping--What Are Outlinks?

Good Thursday to all----my first question--what are outlinks?  How do you see what outlinks are on a lens?
I have one of my lenses marked for:
Spam content see less
We're no puritans, but there are certain words and word patterns that often indicate a type of lens content or topic that we can't support on Squidoo. Our system has found a few of these topic or word patterns on this lens. Read a brief set of guidelines about SquidDon't topics: http://www.squidoo.com/squiddont.

P.S. It's possible your lens is in good standing, yet one of your readers has posted spam content in a Guestbook or Duel module. Try reviewing the comments published on this lens. If you find spam there, chances are good that's why your lens is flagged.

Homeschool Journal--Good Week

Alas, I have no photos to show this week.  I've got to get myself together on those.

We had a good week.  We pushed to make sure we had good days.  All subjects were covered.
In math I brought back out the overview book.  I had been using this in the past as a way to keep some concepts fresh in her mind with a few problems on the dry erase board each day.  It's a great addition to the day, especially those busy days since she can work on the board on her own time.

We are still reading the books about Greece.  I plan on starting a squidoo lens tomorrow sharing some of what we are learning and the books we are reading.
The Introduction to Business is proving to be very interesting.  She had to ask me though, "Why does this book have so much math in it?"  Silly girl--business and math go together.  I'm glad I happened across the book in my books for sale!

I'm glad that she is taking the time on her own for physical activity.  She is making a point on her own to get out and walk, ride the bike, etc for a set amount of time each day.

We are heading out the door right now for our weekly Bible study class at church.
