All Business Monday -- Traffic Exchanges

Welcome to my Manic Monday! Oh wait, it's All Business Monday here on my blog.

This week I want to talk about traffic exchanges. There are thousands of them out there, literally. I belong to several. I don't use them as often as I probably should as social networking has taken over as far as I am concerned. I will mention that most traffic exchanges do come with a build in chat feature on the side, so you can socialize with others who are surfing at the same time as you are.

I was using an exchange for years called reallysmartdeals. It was specifically for people who sell things online. It was awesome. Sadly, the new owners have decided to shut it down until at such time they can make it like they want it to be. I miss it!
In the meantime, I do use the different traffic exchanges for my Jerky Direct pages, my etsy shop, zibbet shop, shophandmade shop, onlinecraftmall profile page, and some of the paid to click sites that I do.

As I said, I don't use traffic exchanges near as often as I probably should. Saturday I stopped in to most all of them. Sunday morning I rec'd an order for 16 of my dish scrubbies. Coincidence? I don't know, but I am thinking that the person just may have seen them in a traffic exchange.

With traffic exchanges you surf through the rotation of websites that others have put into rotation. As you surf, you earn credits so that your websites are seen. They all offer upgraded memberships at various prices. For me, I don't pay for upgrades.
I'm going to talk a little about each one that I am a member of, as well as put in a banner or link in case you would like to check it out.

Easyhit4U is a paying traffic exchange. While visiting websites you are earning credits to promote websites of your choice as well as earning .30 for every 1000 websites that you visit. Payout is a low $3. You also earn .10 for each referral once they surf 100 websites. I've been a member for many years, so I've been paid several times with this one. (This one I know produced an order as when they emailed me they told me where they had seen my items)
The Most Popular Traffic Exchange

Topsurfer is another one that I have been a member of for several years. There are lots of aspects to it, I only use the exchange part. Website urls are unlimited. Payout is a minimum of $10 and they pay out automatically through paypal every Wednesday to all members who have reached the minimum. Paid emails are worth 5 credits and .003. Clicking the exchange each view is worth .00003 plus viewing credits. You manually assign the credits to your websites in rotation.

The next 3 are also a lot of fun while surfing---all 3 also offer prizes of surf credits, banner credits, link credits or cash just for logging in each day.

Traffic4Webmasters offers prize drawing tickets as you surf as well as bonus credits, and a little cash. Minimum of $25 to get paid.

Gladiator Hits also offers games and such for bonuses as you search. They offer a whirlwind of ways to advertise. They include automatic twitter messages to click to help get referrals. I only discovered this while surfing on Saturday. I am unsure as to what the minimum is to cash out as it only tells me that a link will show up to redeem once I have enough in my account.
GladiatorHits - Traffic That Defies The Competition

Traffic Dynomite I believe is owned by the same person as Gladiator Hits and offers the same only in different fashion. I really do have fun doing both of them.
TrafficDynamite - CAUTION EXPLOSIVE TRAFFIC

I actually am a member of several more but these are the ones that I do on a semi-regular basis. With other things (writing sites) going downhill in pay, and me wanting to promote my crafts more, I plan to start using all of these on a more regular basis!

Super Sunday Reviews ---Makery by Kate Smith

Makery--Over 30 Projects for the Home, To Wear, and to Give by Kate Smith

Over 30--there are 31 projects in this book.  There are some really cool projects, if I must say so myself.
The book is set up into 3 sections:  fashion, gifts, and home.  Although, anything from any of the sections would make nice handmade gifts.

If you know me, you know that I am all about handmade.  There are so many projects in this book that I want to make!   Just a few of them are the crocheted slippers, shoulder bag, make-up roll, tablet case, button magnets, tea light ins, and fifties frilly apron.

Makery is 159 pages.  Instructions and materials for each projects are clearly and visually laid out.  There are 7 pages of stitches and tips at the back of the book as well as a page of stocklists.
It also includes pull-out patterns as pictured below.

Once I get a chance to make some of the things in Makery, I will come back to this post and update it with pictures!

Frugal Friday with Marsha--The Stash

Most couponers call their stash a stock pile, I call it my stash.  Over the years of using coupons I have always stashed away health and beauty items throughout the year.  Getting razors, shave gel, toothbrushes, floss, body wash, deoderant, and make-up free, or extremely cheap with sales and coupons.

In 2014 I let my couponing go by the way side.  In August 2014 our grocery store stopped doubling coupons.  About that same time I lost my free source of getting multiple coupon inserts free each week.

My grown children have grown accustomed to expecting these things from me each year.   I had thought all I had in my stash was men's shave gel.   I made a mad dash earning Target gift cards through swagbucks and the PerkTV app.  Target was having some good deals such as buy 4 items and get a $5 Target card back.  Plus, I had coupons as well for most all of them. Plus additional savings through the Target Cartwheel and Target coupons as well.   I was making lots of trips to Target, but my boxes just weren't going to be as full of as many things as usual.

Or, so I thought......
It came time for me to go get in to my stash for the shave gel.

Look what I found:

Because I hadn't been using many coupons anymore, I hadn't added anything to my stash.  I had NO idea that I still had so much in there. (I keep my stash by category in strawberry crates stacked in the corner of my bedroom)
I was able to put together nice, and pretty complete boxes for all of the adult children after all.

Now, I am working my way back to using lots of coupons again.  I have found a source to buy inserts through a local friend for much cheaper than buying multiple Sunday papers.  I am working to keep my coupons cut and in my binder, and carrying my binder with me at all times.
I hang out in the #couponcommunity, #target, #walmart, and #walgreens hashtags over on TSU.  So many members there posts deals.  It's phenomenal!

I originally wrote about my stash on bubblews.  You can find my post here:

My Stash Was Larger Than I Thought

Writer's Unite 1/8/15

Good Thursday morning!  I hope you all are staying warm.  I was hearing on the radio that it's as much as 30 and 40 below 0 in some places!  We are just below 0 with the wind chill here.
Are you staying inside where it's warm and writing your heart out?

I've been good so far to write daily here on my blog.  I hope to continue that.
I'm still writing on bubblews...actually writing a bit more since average per post is so low.  I'm under $3 to go before I hit $50 to hit redeem.
I can't help but to be curious as to what these changes are that will come about in February and March.

I know that there are lots of other places where I can write, but bubblews is habit right now.  Plus, I already have so many things that I am trying to do....I already spread myself out too thin.
I want to concentrate more on my blog than writing somewhere else right now too.

I look forward to anything you share this week  :)

All Business Monday---Reading

(Image courtesy of pixabay--License: CC0 Public Domain )

Reading and business---how do these go together for me?

I often get books in to read and review.  I used to get right to reading them to get the reviews done.   2014 I really slacked off on reading.  In fact, I can turn around right now and see 5 books on my shelf that came in for review months ago, that I've not even looked at yet.   Shame on me!!  That is not being responsible to the authors, publishers, or PR firms that send them to me to review.   A couple of them are ones that all I have to do is look through them and talk about them for the review.

Even though I am not compensated in any other way from the source that sends the book, when I post about it, I have the ability to add in affiliate links.  Those are another part of the business side of it to give me a chance to earn more.  In other words, it's fully to my benefit to keep up on my reading and book reviews.

I'm on a good start for 2015 so far.  I finished and reviewed Go For It!  yesterday.   My Super Sunday Reviews posts will consist of the books I am behind on until I get caught up  :)

You might also keep in mind that each Sunday those posts include a linky for you to link up any reviews you have written the past week---and there isn't a limit on how many you can link up.
And don't forget to link up any business related posts you have written each week in this linky.

Here are some nice bookshelf choices:

Super Sunday Reviews--Go For It!

With the new year upon us, this book that I just finished is perfect to start the new year.

It's Go For It! A Practical Guide to Success for Everyone by John J. Tassone.

I was sent this book some time ago to read and review.  Once I started reading it I sure wished I had read it right away over letting it sit on my shelf so long.

I have read many motivational type books over the years...I've taken something from each of them.
What I took away from this book is that when I make goals to not tell myself that I hope I will do this, or that I will try to do this, but instead always tell myself that I WILL do it.

Along with the motivational chapters of the book are chapters that give practical advice on actually starting your own business.  It's to the point.

The entire book is only 161 pages.  I felt pumped while reading this book.

From information sent me for the purpose of my review:

John J. Tassone's stories and insights are very timely.  Some of these little nuggets may hold the key to solving problems both small and large all across the nation.   Here are just some of what he offers up in the book, Go For It! :
Believe in yourself since if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will either.
Yes you must have goals, but take the accidental goals that fall in your lap along the way.
Decide what you are going to do and do it, do it do it.

Stories are included in the book for each of these, and more.

John started working as a child with a paper route and then shining shoes.  Through high school he worked at his father's hardware store.   He was introduced to the world of selling insurance while working for a steel mill.  He started selling insurance part time, but soon quit his job and went full time.  In 1976 he opened his own insurance company.

John says that "Today's world is characterized by negativity.  Too many people have lost sight of the positive."   The focus of his book is to teach people how to refocus, stay positive, and to reach out for a better life.  He wants everyone who reads his book to feel better about themselves and the world around them.

I know that reading it made me feel better about myself right from the start.  I can honestly recommend reading this book.
