Squidoo Hopping--Snow Snow Snow

First, let me apologize for missing last week's post.
Here is Kansas we were hit by 2 heavy winter storms this past week. By the end of last Thursday we had 15 inches of snow. Bam! On Monday it came back with another 8 inches.

Let's try a theme again this week in our sharing of lenses. Once last hurrah (I hope!) to winter. Link up 1 or 2 of your lenses that have anything to do with winter.

If you have blog posts from this past week that deal anything with squidoo, please also link those as well.

Frugal Friday With Marsha--Linky Party

It's been a full week again since I've blogged!  Life is so full for me and I sure have some catching up to do.

We've had snow, a LOT of it, these past couple of days.  More snow than we've seen at one time in Kansas in a decade.  It's sort of nice, past the fact that I have to go out to work today.

I cheated one night this week for supper....and it wasn't frugal.  I ordered pizza from Papa Johns.  Sure, it was a special for $9.99 for a large.  I ordered 2 though and we did eat them for 2 nights.

I only went to the grocery store once this past week!
I spent $7.83.  I saved $14 with coupons and had a total savings of 74%.
There were printable coupons for $1 off any pork.  I used those to get the pork riblets that were marked for quick sale.  One package  for .87  and the other was $1.37.  Yes, we had those for supper that night.

We were able to get 2 loaves of bread and 2 packages of hamburger buns from the warehouse free. (If you don't know, my husband is a route driver for Sara Lee).  We then did have to buy a gallon of milk to finish out the week as well.  It was on sale for $2.99.

What have you posted this past week?  I really do enjoy reading posts that are linked up.  The learning and the motivation are great!

Sunday April 5

Good Morning. I wanted to get my blog written before heading out to church. I am on altar guild this month. I am having Steve get me there this week. Next week for Easter we will ask church members to get the whole gang there.
I woke up, went upstairs, looked out the back door, and what did I see? It's snowing! shoot....
I hadn't done my grocery shopping for the week. Last night I got to thinking about how today's high was only to be 40 so at 7 pm last night I gathered up a few coupons and Jasmine, Allen and I walked to the store and back. I spent more than usual, although I did have a plan for meals in my head.

I didn't get as many books at the sale yesterday as I usually get, but I have 2 piles to finish getting photos of and then get listed. I want to try to get them all listed between today and tomorrow evening before I do my online party. Then, of course, hope that we can get some people in to the party.

I updated Our Unschooling Journey 2 squidoo lens yesterday. I also updated my Traffic Galore lens.

I have a daughter not getting up and around for church, so I am going to close for now. Have a very blessed Sunday.

Tuesday March 31

Good Morning!
Amazingly, almost all the snow from the snowstorm over the weekend is now melted...all 18 inches! Jasmine and I walked to the store yesterday.
I was really disappointed when I went in to the Spring Fling yesterday to find out that it was cancelled....I had worked so hard preparing for it and advertising it, and well, was really in hopes of making some money selling things to work towards getting the van running again. But, the owners son was in an accident and family does have to come first. I've not heard anything yet on how her son is, or if yesterday will be rescheduled to another day. The Spring Fling is set for day 2 tomorrow, however, yesterday was the only time I was scheduled to present my crafts.

Tonight is bowling....just 2 more weeks after this week. I will miss my weekly night out, but at the same time appreciate the break over the summer months. Just so much I am trying to do.

I didn't really get anything done...a couple extra posts on gather, one to say I was going to have a busy day, then another one telling about the Spring Fling being cancelled. I didn't do anything on squidoo other than rate and comment on a few lenses of others. Can we say non-productive? I did finish the plarn shopping bag, and will get it listed in my blujay store today. I'm going to cut all my netting while working on here today to get as many dish scrubbies made as I can.

I guess that's about all my news for today folks. Have a great Tuesday!

Satuday March 28

Good Morning. It's definitely a snow day here today. I woke up to turn on the news and here we have 18 inches so far and it's still snowing.
They have postponed the event that I was to do child care for until tomorrow afternoon. I'm not sure if Headstart is still going to take part or not, so I am not sure if I will end up working tomorrow or not. Many many places are closed and if anyone is smart they are just staying in their house. Below is a picture that I took out our back door at 8 am this morning.

I've uploaded a couple of videos this morning on gather. If you are interested, you can click to my home page and then click videos at the top to see them. Marsha's Gather Home Page

I have no real plans today other than the normal cleaning and doing what I can on the computer. I am, however, going to bake a couple of apple pies today. Great day to have the oven going. I may even tell them no if they call me to do that child care tomorrow. It's sure hard to want to go outdoors at all with this much snow out there.

I did end up updating a squidoo page yesterday. I won a really nice bracelet on mycoolcontests so added it to my page. It's a lot of fun checking to see if I win something each day. Mycoolcontests

I'm closing for today and moving on to other things. If you too are getting snow, stay warm, if not, be thankful!

Saturday February 28

Here we are to the end of February. Let's hope March brings on Spring! We did get that snow they called for last night but very little. Today's high is only 30, but it goes up to 70 by Tuesday.
We survived the busy day yesterday. I did find out that there is gas getting into the oil in the van. Something that now needs to be taken care of before I bother changing the oil and filter. (sigh)
My aunt and uncle headed out this morning after bringing by some of the photos they took this week.

This evening I am going out with Steve to a bowling dinner and party. I want to go, but then again after the busy busy week I really just want to stay home and relax. Alas, the tickets are bought.

Here is a photo essay I shared on gather of my day at Headstart volunteering in Ariel and Araya's classroom. Ariel and Araya's Headstart Class 2/26/09

I've updated 2 more of my squidoo lenses. With my ideas I can continue to update all of them a bit at a time to keep them fresh and keep me busy there. One I did was Elvis For Mom

I just cashed out at swagbucks for another $5 amazon...it's really easy to earn there, if you haven't checked it out you really should! I am saving amazon that I earn to get myself a laptop.

Have an awesome Saturday!

Friday January 16

Good Morning and welcome to my 300th post on blogspot!
The snow is outside but they aren't calling for anymore. They are calling for a bit of a warm up each day over the next 4 days.

I didn't get my coupons done yesterday....sigh.....I got off the computer and worked on them while I watched Gray's Anatomy and will do the same this evening while I watch Ghost Whisperer.
I did get my federal income tax refund filed online, but not without a lot of frustration in trying to get it done.

I haven't really been posting much on gather other than my daily Investing for the Future and daily Helen Steiner Rice poem. I did put in 3 photos yesterday.

I need to get busy building more lenses over on squidoo. Since I was talking about Helen Steiner Rice I will feature that lens today. She has wonderful and inspirational Christian poetry. I share several in the lens. I hope you will take a look and enjoy. Helen Steiner Rice

I've done all my housework this morning so woo hoo! I have the rest of the day to do as I please past supper and some dishes.

Until tomorrow, have a glorious day!

Thursday January 15

Good afternoon! I am really late posting this today.
My morning started out by looking out the window and finding snow. It's still coming down too.
I had to get a ride and pick up commodity food first thing this morning. Once home I started doing some housework. I then played a board game with Allen and Jasmine. Allen is out of school for conference time. Man, then it was time for lunch. The morning just flew by on me.

I did get some coupons cut out last night, but not many. I won't be working on any crafts today. Instead I am going to get done what I can with these coupons.
It's my payday though, so soon I need to find a ride to the bank, to pay on the cable bill and get just a few things at Family Dollar.

Now I stopped typing here and started filing my income tax refund. Yes, this is just what kind of day I am having.

I recently featured my squidoo lens on Hannah Montana, but I am doing so again today. I took a picure of the girls modeling their Hannah Montana shirts. When I went to add it to the lens I realized how dull the lens was, so I also added a couple more larger photos. I hope you will take another look. Hannah Montana for Ariel

Ok, really publishing this. You all stay warm, I am seeing it's super super cold up north.

Thursday December 18

Good Morning! It's cold outside, but not windy. If it can only stay like this today I will have it made. However, it's supposed to start raining ice.
Today is my last day of work, and right after work I go to the Salvation Army to get Jasmine's gifts and our food basket. Then, I head to First Call for Help and get Heather's gifts.
I will spend the rest of the day mostly wrapping the gifts. Once that is done all I will have left if my Christmas goodie making and I plan on doing that over the weekend and Monday.

Today I would like to share a post I did a couple of days ago on Gather. It's the snow we woke up to. Woke up to Shovel Snow

Today's featured squidoo lens is a book review for Empty Promises. That sure was an interesting book. I hope you will check it out. Empty Promises Book Review

Tuesday December 16--Snow!

Good morning! Woke up to a few inches of snow. I was out shoveling early to get Allen down the sidewalk. It was kins of invigorating, and I have to admit it is beautiful. Another good thing is it's not bitter cold out like it was yesterday.

Today I have work...just 3 days left and I am done! After I get off work Heather has her math tutoring, and this evening is bowling.

I've posted on gather with a photo of how the hair scrunchies turned out in black. Please take a look if you would like. I am done making the scrunchies for Christmas gifts so from now on most that will be made will be listed on blujay. Hair Scrunchies in Black

I built a squidoo lens last night on the Jerky Direct Business. I really do hope you will take a look at it. I've been with Jerky Direct for over 2 years and I am very happy with it. I'm really wanting to get the word out. And, if you want to try the Jerky, email me, I am offering free shipping on 2 bags. Jerky Direct Business Opportunity

I did get all my running done yesterday. My daughter and her boyfriend both had the stomach stuff yesterday but the man down the block got me to all my places. I will be very glad ride wise once this week is over.

Until tomorrow, have a glorious day!

Cyber Monday December 1

Good morning! It snowed last night and stuck. Not much thank goodness. (no, I do not like snow!) Only way I like snow is if I don't have to go out in it at all and all I can do is look at it.

I'm really only going to talk about one thing today and that's Cyber Monday at piepoints.com. Come on in for the chat party. Still savings to be had and fun chatting. Prizes yet to be won...with another grand prize to be given away tonight!
Piepoints chat (just put in a username)
Cyber Monday Specials at piepoints
Prizes available at piepoints
I hope you will check it all out. We had a lot of fun on Black Friday and decided to extend it until today.

I guess I will say that I did get more cleaning done yesterday, we did get our Christmas tree up, and I did finish making that rug. All in all it was a great day yesterday.

Until tomorrow, take care,
Marsha

Sunday November 30

Here we are to the last day of November. We got our first snow yesterday. It didn't last long, and it didn't stick. I took a short video and uploaded it to gather.
It took me 4 tries before it uploaded and submitted. While I waited I cleaned. In fact, I did a lot of cleaning and organizing yesterday but have a long ways to go until this basement is cleaned and organized the way I want it. I still am not far enough to be able to put up the Christmas tree but I will work on that more today.

After the cleaning I started finishing a rug to put down on one side of Jasmine's bed. I will finish that today too.
We are getting a ride to church today since there is a youth dinner after church. However, my mother is upstairs saying she got the pink eye from Jasmine and shouldn't go. She's not even really been close to Jasmine let alone touched anywhere around her eye. The woman thinks all she has to do is look at someone who is sick and she has it.

I did my weekly mail call post on gather yesterday. I didn't get much the past week but I hope you will take a look. I did get in $50 in paypal from gather. Mail Call! Week of November 23

I've also decided to have a lens of the day in my blog at squidoo. This one I actually built yesterday on Helen Steiner Rice, making my 35th lens. Helen Steiner Rice

Have a very blessed Sunday,
Marsha

Saturday November 29

Good Morning! We are having our first snow. It's huge flakes but they aren't sticking to anything. Neat to look at even if I don't like the cold.
I am heading out to the store. I need to get a few things to help with the lunch at church tomorrow that the youth are hosting and get eye drops for Jasmine. She's somehow gotten pink eye.

The online party went well enough yesterday, several came in and out throughout the day. I got 3 orders. Specials are extended through Cyber Monday when we will also be having another chat party. When I know the hours for that I will post them. More prizes will be given away. I hope to get in a few more orders. It was a lot of fun to be online and working on the orders at the same time. All 3 orders are in the mail today.

Here is one of my photo posts from gather yesterday. Thanksgiving at my son's house. I didn't end up getting everyone pictured but still got some good shots. Thanksgiving at My Son's House with Photos

It's back to work clicking on here for me...got to earn that van! I am in hopes with income tax refund and what I can earn between now and then that I will have a vehicle by the end of February.

Have a great day!
