All Business Monday --Staying On Track

Welcome to another week!
Last week I posted my online earnings for February.  You can find the post HERE if you missed it.

I've been staying on track in my efforts to earn online.  In the past 2 weeks I have:

Listed a set of the pink washcloths in my shophandmade store.  Sadly that website appears to be totally down.  IF it comes back up I need to take the time to copy those listings to etsy and zibbet, so praying it does come back up.  If not then it means extra inventory time to know what I have listed there.
(Lesson learned is that I need to keep a running inventory on file of what is in each shop.)

I got an order for 12 of the washcloths from my zibbet shop, which also made it the first order I've ever gotten there.

I finished sewing 9 lined bags such as you see in my photo today.  I have 3 of them listed in my etsy shop.

I've listed 2 books over on half.com, one of which sold right away.

I'm slowly getting caught up on reviews that need to be done.  I'm working on getting sponsored posted mixed in with my regular posts.  I started with this one.

All Business Monday -- Getting On the Right Track

I feel like I am on the right track with my business.  If I can keep it up, things will be awesome.

I did manage to post daily here to my blog after missing a couple of days last week.  Eventually I would like to get to where I am doing 2 posts per day.

I listed 2 more books in my half.com store.  I also sold a book this past week.

I finished making all of the pink cotton crocheted washcloths that I could with the yarn I had.  I listed 2 sets of them up in my Zibbet store.

I listed this set of 4 patchwork hot pads in my Etsy shop.  I also got an order for a set of the coasters this past week.

I've been getting in more items for review again, which is always good.  A lot of what I get in are books, so reading has been upped in my life. 
I'm also still keeping up with my paperwork like I should be!

All Business Monday--January Online Earning Stats

 Back in September of 2014 I set myself a goal to cash out each day of the month--the equivalent of.  I made that goal each month until January.  I was only able to redeem 24 out of 31 times for the month.

I am reporting what was rec'd in January:

PerkTV --$45 in gift cards (use code 860efbf6 for 50 bonus points)
Swagbucks -- $40 in gift cards (I alternate with both PerkTV and Swagbucks between Walmart, Target and Amazon cards) (I believe if you use HIP70 as the code on sign up you will get 70 swagbucks)

Hausernet is a mail decoy program.  You earn .25 for each piece of mail that comes in and you input the code online.  Honestly they are paying monthly now with no minimum pretty regularly, but they do still owe me for all of the year 2012!

Pinecone Research is an invite only survey website....and one that I need to keep up with better.

Bubblews, as we all know is very low now on the earning scale, but I am still trying to write at least 2 posts a day there.  I do enjoy keeping up with my regular connections.

PerkTV is linked above, but they allow you to run it on up to 5 devices---and you can have 2 accounts per household, so up to 10 devices.  It's generally running on 4 devices here, which it is right now. (No plan devices that I am running through out wi-fi here at home)

Swagbucks, which is also linked above, has 6 apps.  They do not allow you to run them at the same time or your account will be deleted, but I generally get through 4 of the apps on a good day.

I am working on things here on my blog.  I hope that my earnings each month online and with the apps will continue to increase as each month goes by.


As far as my Gifts Galore and More (Jerky Direct, Etsy, Zibbet, Shophandmade, Half.com, etc)  I had a loss of $36.86 for the month.   I realized that I hadn't been putting down the classes and workshops that I take as expenses, so have $44 expense in January for the rug making class and supplies.
Otherwise I would have made $8 profit from an order for dish scrubbies and one book sold through half.com.

(I did also earn $224.36 between my 2 merchandising jobs and cleaning our church)

All Business Monday--Establishing Routines

I have a problem.  That problem is establishing routines. 

I really like to do my blog posts in the morning before I do anything else on the computer.  This post is usually put up Monday morning, not later into Monday evening.  However this was a Monday that I had to be out of the house early and gone for the day.  So, here I am.

How can I establish any work routines when my activities are scattered?

Sunday mornings are always church.

Every Monday and Friday is one of my merchandising jobs--no set hours, just the days to do it.

Every Tuesday morning is Bible study.

Every Friday I clean our church.

1st Saturday of the month is Sampler at the quilt shop

2nd Monday of the month is quilt guild board meeting and quilt show meeting.

2nd Tuesday of the month is sewing club from 10-3 (I skip Bible study this day and go to the basement to sew)

2nd Friday is sit n' sew at the quilt shop from 6-10 pm

3rd Tuesday is ladies lunch from noon -2

3rd Wednesday is stitch group from 1-3

3rd Thursday evening is church council

4th Tuesday evening is family bingo night

Last Monday of the month is quilt guild 9-noon

Once a month during the second half the month I choose the day I do one merchandising job.

Once every other month in the second half of the month I choose a day for another merchandising job.

 

Throw in something always unexpected, or any additional appointments and my life is chaos.

I'm glad to have my planner to keep all of these regular things as well as my appointments, and appointments of others tracked!

All Business Monday--Half.com

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with half.com.  It's an ebay company and a website where you can sell books,textbooks,movies, music, and games. 

I currently have 88 books in my half.com store.

I enjoy half.com.  It's easy to list there.  You simply put in the ISBN or UPC number and it will take you to the item.  You choose the condition, make some comments about it and add a short description.  They even give you a suggested selling price (which I always go under).

Not all books and such are on the website though.  If something you want to list isn't on the site, you can fill out a form asking them to add it.  I've actually done that several times but haven't gone back to check it if was added or not.

The one thing that I don't like about half.com is that when you sell a book, you have to print your shipping right away from paypal.  That part would be fine with me, except they don't pay you with paypal.  They pay you through your checking account and they pay out on the 1st and the 15th of the month.  If I don't have enough in my paypal when an order comes in, this puts me into a little bind.

I used to list at least one new book each week, and I also always sold at least 2 books a month.  I've not been listing lately because....well....I've not been reading like I should!  I also haven't hit any garage sales this past season either.   I plan to work on this in 2015!

All Business Monday--Zazzle

There are several print on demand websites. I have only designed a few things on zazzle. I need to get busy and get more items designed. Hopefully I will get that done this week!

About anything you can imagine can be designed with your own photos and image creations on zazzle! My favorites to design are postage stamps and address labels. My first order of business in my shop is to make matching address labels for the postage stamps that I have in my store already.

You will notice by my banner that zazzle is having a sale up to 60% off for Cyber Week. Best time to buy!

All Business Monday---Zibbet

Zibbet has been around a few years yet many seem to have never heard of it before.   Zibbet is a lot like Etsy.  A place to sell handmade items, craft supplies, and vintage items.

It was founded by Johnathan Peacock and has evolved in many ways since it's beginning.

It used to be totally free to list up to 50 items.   There was an upgrade to list more as well as offer sales, have more than one photo etc.
You can still list free on Zibbet, but only up to 10 items now.

I debated with myself on upgrading, but did decide to go with the basic membership and am paying $5 a month to have up to 50 items listed.   I currently have 42 listed.

Promotion, promotion and promotion is what I need to keep on for myself if I expect to be a successful seller.  After 3 years, I've not sold even one item there.
So here, I am to promote the website as a whole, as well as myself.

I was using Zibbet as an alternative to paying to relist items as they expired in my Etsy shop.   I will still list them on Zibbet as they expire in Etsy and work towards always having my limit of 50 items listed at all time.

All Business Monday--Shop Hand Made

This week I am highlighting Shop handmade.
It's like etsy where you can list your hand made items, supplies and vintage items.
One difference is that shop handmade it totally fee free.
Another difference is that your items don't expire.  They stay listed until sold, or you delete them.  I do like this feature.
Another difference though seems to be promotion.  There are the usual social sharing options, but they don't offer any pre-made banners.
 I need to work on making my own banner for various web advertising.


When you go to the main page of shop handmade and look at the bottom, there are nice widgets for recently updated stores.  I wish we had a code to put that widget on our own pages.  

I will be adding a lot more to my store as well as start to do a lot more promoting of it.  I have yet to sell anything there, but I feel it's more lack of promotion than anything else.

All Business Monday--Etsy

This week I want to talk about Etsy--the site to sell your hand made items, as well as supplies and vintage items.
I've had an etsy shop for a long time.  Every year I make a goal that I will at least list one new items each week.  Every year I don't maintain that goal.

Still, etsy is the place where I have sold the most of my crafts, which is a variety of items.  I have plastic canvas, quilts, table runners, baby bibs, fabric bags, crochet items and more.
I don't have a niche.  I am more of an all around type of gal.
Often I learn how to make something new and you will then see a lot of that in my shop.

I've had luck with special orders here and there.  Someone sees, say one of the fabric bags, and wants a certain color or print, and will order it special.  I love those!

I have found that even with the fees, etsy is still the best place to list your items for sale.


This morning I put off my procrastination and went in to my shop.  I renewed several listings that had expired as well as added a new item.  I WILL keep my goal from now on of listing something new each week, which can include relisting an expired item if I don't have anything new made.

2. 5% COMMISSION paid on ALL wholesale sales generated on your first level beyond the $12.00 monthly commitment purchases (based on your level of participation!)

Commissions are generated the first day of each month for the previous month's transactions. Unlike some companies that hold on to your money until you reach a “threshold”, Jerky Direct produces your commission checks every month, no matter how large or small they may be. Where is the fine print?
There is none! As long as you maintain an active storefront you are eligible to receive ALL commissions generated from Jerky Direct purchases in your down line. It is as simple as that, no complex requirements or stepped commission payouts. Bottom line, if you earned it, we will pay it to you. Commissions are also available for our other product lines.
