Frugal Friday With Marsha--Camping Trip

MarshasSpot

It's been about forever since I've written here. July was just crazy busy, ending with our family vacation camping trip.
It was such a fun time! So surreal and a much needed break away from home. Awesome family time.

My youngest daughter and her boyfriend didn't get to join us as they had already planned a float trip with his family.
My son came. My oldest daughter, her 5 children, and father of one of them.
My middle daughter and her husband and 3 children.
4 family friends joined in on the fun.
My middle daughters husband, mother, 3 of his aunts, his brother and nephew joined us too.

My brother and niece came and spent the first day with us. A friend of mine and her hubby came and spent an afternoon.
Several of relatives on my daughters husbands side of the family and his friends showed up in and out while there.

Food---there was sure plenty of it!! Everyone shared what they brought for every meal and some took care of entire breakfasts.
If I could have stayed another week or so, I may have gained some weight!

We did get hit by a huge storm the first night. Very high winds took down some of the tents and everything was just drenched. We made the best of it by hanging 6 lines and hanging our clothes, bedding, etc up to dry.
There was 4 inches of rain and I found 3 inches of that inside my suitcase. Oh well, didn't bother me to wear my pj's the next day since it was a cooler day.
I wish I had taken some storm shots, but sadly, dealing with scared grandchildren and getting NO sleep, I didn't even think of it.

However, here are some of the pictures that I did take:

Thursday August 6

Good Morning!
Yesterday was such a nice day. I actually got to spend a lot of family time over running everyone around.
This morning I've been booking along both on the computer and on the house. My daughter finally broke down and decided she would use the bedroom upstairs until her room down here is complete. We are working on getting her clothes and stuff taken up there. I'm so happy to get this futon mattress out of the middle of the living room floor down here. It also means more room in my closet so I can work on getting the rest of my clothes moved over here as well as the rest of her clothes.

I got both of the book reviews in on gather yesterday: Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich--Book Review and Forever by Judy Blume--Book ReviewI will get the squidoo lenses built on them when I can. The lenses take longer since I put more research into building them.

Clixsense, hits4pay and dealsncash have all been having lots of paid links lately. Please check out my banners at the bottom of my blog for banners on these programs.

I think all I might have to do today is take my mom to the dr. this afternoon. I will go to her house a bit early and see what else I can pack to move. It's a stormy day so far. I plan on making breakfast for supper tonight so one thing I need to get is my large griddle to cook on. I love breakfast foods any time of the day.

Guess I better get my daily post up on gather and then get back to taking Jasmine's clothes upstairs. We have a bookshelf that I also am in hopes of getting painted today.

Have a great Thursday,
Marsha

Tuesday June 16

Good Morning!
Last night I was playing at winster.com and had 4 spins left and had just spun the last winnie I needed for a jackpot when the tornado sirens went off. I unplugged the laptop from the power, cashed in my jackpot, and spun my last 4 spins....then we lost electricity. Good thing for the light of the laptop as we searched all around for any candles we could find. We didn't get power back until after midnight...and I wasn't smart enough to turn off the light switches, so about the time I was finally able to get to sleep.....BAM! all the lights come on LOL

I am about to head out to sewing club. I must remember to grab my camera on the way out the door to get some photos.

Looks like now possibly they will start the work on mom's bathroom tomorrow...I sure hope so! I'm glad it wasn't today since I will be 10-3 at sewing club and no one else was comfortable about staying at Starla and Steve's without me there (well, other than Jasmine)

I better run and get a few more things done before leaving (can't take the laptop with me, already tried twice and no wireless connections available from my church at all)

Have a good day!

Saturday May 16

Good Morning!
We ended up with a bad storm coming in pretty quickly late yesterday afternoon. Bug thunder boomers and lightening and hail up to 2 inches. It shut the electric down. I was scared since last time this computer was turned off, upon trying to turn it back on I got a message that Windows couldn't start due to a missing or corrupt file. It finally did start up and I hadn't turned it off again for weeks. Thank goodness, as you can see, it did come back on. I took all the kids upstairs during the storm so we could watch out the windows and I crocheted until I thought it was past enough to be safe to turn the computer back on.

I got my 4 Weeks To Healthy Digestion Book Review written in gather, and then made into a squidoo lens yesterday. I always put the book reviews in gather first them expand them into lenses. It's neat that way.

It's another busy Saturday. This afternoon is the big Headstart volunteer activity. Jasmine and I did some work during the year, but the whole family gets to go. They are taking us to the Kansas Cosmophere to watch an IMAX movie and then tour the Space Museum. I see photo essays coming to gather and a lens built just about the Cosmosphere in the works. That is if I don't forget to take my camera along like I've been guilty of doing so many times lately.

This evening we will spend with Steve again. I am worried about what the hail did to my garden yesterday. I thought of calling him last night to ask but wasn't sure I wanted to know. Checking it out will be the first thing I do once we get over there.

Have a great Saturday!

Wednesday August 27

What a morning! I went to bed with a migraine. I took an Excedrin migraine which usually helps to not wake up with a migraine, but I did. I fixed my breakfast drink, took another Excedrin migraine and just sat until the pain started to subside. So...I got a really late start this morning on the computer and I have to be at work in 15 minutes.
We woke up to lots of lightening and loud thunder. I think it is supposed to rain most all day.
We kicked some behind in bowling last night and we had lots of fun.
I took some pictures for the summerpics promo at gather, but I will share those another day.

Today I want to share my photo essay on our church painting day. Church Painting Day--August 16--Photo Essay

There are no appointment on my calendar today, but this is Ariel and Araya's first day at Headstart. They are excited. With me having the only vehicle it means I have to let Elizabeth take me to work so she can get them to school, then come back and pick me up. The heath department just called to and got Heather in for a 10:35 am appointment, so Liz will also have to take her there.

I better get on to work. Have a very blessed day!
