New Teen DIY Book--Me, You, Us by Lisa Currie (review and giveaway)

Remember 80s slam books? What was better than a memory book where teens could talk about themselves and share their thoughts with friends?

Lisa Currie has created a slam book for the internet generation with ME, YOU, US.

You can fill out ME, YOU, US with friends or loved ones, featuring a spectrum of interactive and open-ended prompts asking you to share nicknames for each other, memories of first meeting and dreams of the future. You can pass the book back and forth with your besties, use it as a scrapbook of all the good people in your life, or share it with your boyfriend/girlfriend as a memento of your time together.

This is a great book for camp, slumber parties or lazy Summer days.

Example pages:

My thoughts:

I gave Me, You, Us to my teenager as soon as I got it in the mail.  Her boyfriend was here when it came in.  They got right into looking through the pages and saying out loud the different things they could write in the book and such.   It's was so cool.

The 2 of the did fill out lots of pages together.  My daughter said they had a blast doing it and laughed a lot and were serious a lot.

She then did some pages with her good friend when she spent the night.

I am sharing just a few shots of pages they filled out.  Some were on the personal side to be sharing to the world!

Me, You, Us is 183 pages of fun!

One lucky Marsha's Spot reader will win their own copy of the book.  Just enter using the rafflecopter form below.
Also be sure to check it out on amazon along with Lisa's other book called The Scribble Diary.

Disclaimer:  I rec'd a copy of the book for the purpose of doing a review.  I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions are my own.  I was also supplied a second book for the purpose of this giveaway.

Inside the Minds of Car Dealers--Review and Giveaway!

Inside the Minds of Car Dealers--How to Buy Your Next Car Without Fear by Ray Lopez.
ISBN 978-1-58985-156-6
Five Star Publications

NEWS RELEASE: Retired Car Salesman Launches ‘Car Buying in the New Economy’ Consumer Education Campaign

Thirty-year car selling veteran and author of Inside the Minds of Car Dealers – How to Buy Your Next Car without Fear, Ray Lopez launches consumer awareness campaign to teach savings tactics, and confident car buying practices. Read the full article here.

My personal review:  I actually found Inside the Minds of Car Dealers to be an very interesting and informative read.
118 pages, consisting of 23 chapters. Chapters are all short, sweet, and to the point.
I love how Ray calls himself a "schmuck" throughout the book. And, because of being a schmuck for 30 years, he was prompted to write this book and let us all in on the car salesman "secrets".
Some of the things he mentions throughout the books you've heard for years about a car salesman. Some of those things you think have only just been made up and portrayed in the movies to make them look bad. Bad news....it's not just in the movies.
I found the information on all of the information you can find online to be very interesting. I had no idea there was so much information to be found online....at least not free.
I can now say that if and when I am ready and able to go to a car lot and buy a vehicle, I will be prepared before going! Thanks Ray for all the great advice.

Since my blog deals a lot with coupons and savings, I asked Ray to include answers to questions comparing buying a car to using coupons. Here are the questions and the answers:

Hidden Truths by Brenda Youngerman--Book Review and Giveaway!

Hidden Truths by Brenda Youngerman

ISBN  978-1-60693-125-7

One word I can say about this book is WOW!   It's one of those that you want to keep reading to see what is going to happen.

Set in 4 parts, with 38 chapters, we read about 4 children.  Billy is a 6 yr old whose mother is killed in a car accident, one stormy night.  His father blames him for her death and the boy disappears.
Gwen is a 16 yr old who had been left behind by her father....left to live with a drug addict, alcoholic, prostitute mother, who never wanted her to begin with.

As I said, you will want to keep reading and keep those pages turning as you not only read about Billy and Gwen, but also about their siblings.  Wayne is Billy's older brother, who is left to live with their father and his alcoholism.  Grace is Gwen's older sister, who is taken with their father when he leaves.

Heartfelt stories that will touch your heart, and bring you to tears.  Lives intertwined as you won't believe.  This book would be awesome made into a movie.

After reading Hidden Truths, I am in hopes to get a chance to read all of Brenda's other books!
