Frugal Friday With Marsha -- Clearance Time

It's that time of year.  Time for the stores to clear out Winter items to make room for Spring.  Actually it's been that time for awhile now  😀
My daughter has been having a good time shopping the clearance clothing and even picked up a few things for me while she was at it.  She brought them over last night.  She paid $1 to $3 for each item.
I'm thrilled!  She also brought me a pair of tennis shoes.  I thought she told me they were on clearance for $3, but I didn't see that reflected on the price tag.  I think  she just wanted to make sure that I had a pair of tennis shoes that wouldn't hurt my bad toe.  She's nice like that.  😍

I've been giving LetGo a try.  I sold the pair of tennis shoes that were too small for me right away.  Not having luck with my other listings yet, but I'm not giving up.  I have some things I want to list that didn't sell in the local Facebook selling page.  It's a matter of getting the stuff out, getting another picture and posting.
I also am in the very slow process of going through things in my craft/sewing room.  My guild is having a member rummage sale at the end of this month.  I hope that at least some of my extra will sell and help me make a little money.

In other "news"----

WIP Wednesday -- Penny Rug

Well, babysitting grandchildren, 2 of which are babies, is really lessening my sewing time  😞  I love them, but I must figure out how to get in sewing time!

I only sewed a few minutes one day, finishing up a set of the microwave hotpad/cozies.  I posted a set on Letgo to see how that goes.

I also got motivated for just one day to work more on clearing out and organizing in my craft/sewing room.  Once again someone ordered something from my Etsy shop and I found the item to be in the very bottom tote.  My goal is to clear a path, then clear off the bigger shelf, then put my items for sale on the shelf.  That way when something sells, I can go right to it instead of digging into totes.
In the process I will also see what I have completed that is not listed for sale as well.

I have pulled out the Penny Rug that I started some time back.  I took a picture of my original progress to remind you.  I included the circles that I have completed and ready to sew on as well.
Now I'm itching to start sewing the completed circles onto the wool blanket.   Cross your fingers for me that I get to at least work on this rug a little each day!

That's it for my report this week.  With any luck at all, I will get things figured out and have a lot more to report next Wednesday.  It's sit n' sew at the quilt shop this Friday.  Barring nothing goes wrong, I fully intend to finally get back to working on the Arkansas Crossroads quilt top.

I link up with the following blogs.  I hope you will hop over and check them out as well.

Swago: Spring Edition is here! (US)

The digital rewards site Swagbucks is offering big payouts during their "Swago: Spring Edition" promotion, which runs from now through Monday, March 12th at 9am PT! Swago is just like bingo, but in this case you're filling out squares as you earn points on their site for doing things you already do online. If you're thinking of trying Swagbucks, this is a great chance to learn all about how the site works and earn bonus points while doing it, meaning you can get more gift cards faster. Here are a few tips:

  • Each square on your Swago Board will contain an action item to complete. They can be anything from getting a search win, completing a survey, or just visiting one of our popular stores!

  • Once you complete the action item in a particular square the square will change color signifying the action item is complete.

  • You have until 12pm PT/3pm ET on Monday, March 12th to mark off as many squares as possible so use your time wisely.

  • Be mindful of the patterns and their corresponding bonuses located on the right of your Swago Board. The patterns will vary in difficulty and bonus value. Once you’ve achieved a pattern, the corresponding “Submit” button will light up. You can have multiple patterns available for submission, however, you can only submit ONE pattern so choose wisely.
  • Each activity you successfully complete on your Swago Board will give you anywhere from 1-20 spins on the Spin & Win Wheel. PLUS, when you submit your board for a bonus you'll get additional spins. The number of spins will depend on the pattern you complete. The wheel has all sorts of great prizes that you can win, and each spin is a winner!
The Spin & Win Wheel will be available all throughout Swago and you have until 11:59pm PT on Monday, March 12th to use all your spins.

Fill up your board and then submit your pattern to get even more points - if you can fill in the whole board, you get a 500 SB bonus, which is enough for a $5 gift card from the retailer of your choice.

Click here right now and click "Join" to get started! If you don't already have a Swagbucks account, you'll be able to quickly sign up; PLUS, if you earn 300 SB before the first of January, you'll get a bonus 300 SB!

I love the spin and win wheel!  Come on in and get your SWAGO board so you can earn your spins too!

Get $3 when you sign up for Swagbucks in March

Want some extra boost for your budget this month?

If you haven't tried Swagbucks before, you can get a bonus $3 for signing up as my referral in March. Swagbucks is a rewards site where you earn points (called SB) for things you're probably doing online already, like searching, watching videos, discovering deals, and taking surveys. Then you take those points and exchange them for gift cards to places like Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, Target, or PayPal cash.

When you sign up through me, you can earn an additional $3 bonus! Here's how:

1. Sign up using this link

2. Earn 300 SB total before 4/1/18. You'll get a $3 (300 SB) bonus for it!

3. If you want even more bonuses, you'll get a $10 (1000 SB rebate) bonus for making your first shop purchase! That's in addition to the SB you earn for every dollar you spend.

That's it. It's super easy, and Swagbucks is for real. I use it myself, and I've earned $3,333 (isn't that a cool total to date??)  I cash in for PayPal and Amazon on a regular basis, but have also cashed in for Burger King, WalMart, and eBay as well!   I love Swagbucks, and I know you will too.

Frugal Friday with Marsha -- Birthday Freebies and More

Let's start out this week with this information that was sent to me to share with my readers.  I've never been one to take advantage of all the birthday freebies out there, but I sure should!  This site has a tremendous list, so check it out.  😊😊😊😊

Many retailers offer birthday freebies, coupons, or discounts on (or around) your big day. While none of this free birthday stuff is going to save you a ton, it's always nice to get some extra treats.DealNews, a shopping comparison website, rounded up the best 2018 birthday freebies from major retailers and restaurants, and put them in a handy chart here for you to consult before your big day arrives.

This week wasn't too bad for online earnings received:

$2 to my PerkPlaskic card from PerkTV.  (use code 860efbf6 for bonus points for signing up)
$25 PayPal from Swagbucks
$1 Amazon from Checkpoints (use my email- marsha.seiberling@gmail.com for bonus points)
$3 PayPal  from Pinecone Research.  I get this for uploading my amazon purchase history each month.
$3.52 PayPal from BigMailer.  This is an awesome mailer (safelist).  Very active and also awesome low low lifetime upgrades.  I get good results from the ads that I send out through this one!

This week's Friday Freebie, there are 2 this week!

Here's your weekly list of Recyclebank points for easy access:

WIP Wednesday -- Braid Baby Quilt

I was going to come and write to say that the only thing that I worked on this past week was the braided baby quilt.    As I did work on it finally!  In fact, I actually am almost finished with it.  I just have one more side of the binding to hand sew down and it's done!

But......I happened to look beside me and remembered that my loom needle did come in from amazon and I had worked more on the neck warmer that I am making on the Knifty Knitter.
I actually think that I only need about 4 or 5 more times around to take it off, sew it together and that project will be done as well.  It works much much faster actually using the right tool for the job.

You may notice that I added 2 items to my 6 new for 2018 over in the sidebar ---------->>>
The penny rug isn't new as I started it last year, but it wasn't on my list of projects to work on in 2017 so I'm listing it as new anyway.  The other is a table runner made with the braid.  That one's been on my list since July when I learned how to do the braid, and I have sets of strips ready for cutting courtesy of the left, center, right game played at the guild's retreat.

In the meantime, I link up with the following blogs each week.  I hope you will check them all out!

Win $10,000 on Monday playing Swag IQ! (US & Canada Only)

On Monday, February 26th, Swagbucks is putting up over $10,000 that you can win playing fun trivia games! SwagIQ (available for iPhone and. Android) is a live, multiplayer trivia game show you play from your phone!

Each weekday, Swag IQ broadcasts a live game. Simply tune-in at the appointed time by launching the SwagIQ app and log-in with your Swagbucks account credentials. If you don't have a Swagbucks account, you can sign up for one here and then download the app!

In celebration of Swagbucks's 10th Birthday, they're going to broadcast 4 shows throughout the day and give away at least $10,000! It will likely be more since the more people who sign-up via SwagIQ prior to each game, the bigger the grand prize!

1st Game Show: 1:00 PM Eastern Time/10:00 AM Pacific Time. Grand Prize: at least $1500.
2nd Game Show: 4:00 PM Eastern Time/1:00 PM Pacific Time. Grand Prize: at least $2000.
3rd Game Show: 7:00 PM Eastern Time/4:00 PM Pacific Time. Grand Prize: at least $2500
4th Game Show: 10:00 PM Eastern Time/7:00 PM Pacific Time. Grand Prize: at least $4000

To play SwagIQ, download the app to your iPhone and Android today.

It's really easy to play, too:
The game show host will ask a series of multiple-choice trivia questions. You’ll have 10 seconds to answer each one. Get it right; you get SB and move on. Answer them all correctly and you can win a grand prize! If more than one player wins, the winners split the grand prize.

Get it wrong; still play along. Some questions have a bonus SB award attached to them. If you answer those questions correctly, you get those SB, even if you’re out of the running for the big money. And, if you’re in a groove but miss a question, you’ll have the option to rejoin a game by redeeming a few SB.  When you get to the end of the game, you can claim all of the SB that you've earned.

You can use all the SB points you earn playing SwagIQ to get PayPal cash or gift cards to places like Amazon, Target, Starbucks, and more!

I will be there Monday, will you??  It's fun to play.  Each playing time lasts about 15 minutes.  Yesterday the game ended with 94 players splitting the big prize, each of them receiving 1,437 (worth $14.37).  I didn't make it through, but ended with 8 bonus sb for playing and having fun.

Frugal Friday With Marsha -- Where Did the Week Go?

This week sure has seemed to slip by me!

Saturday evening we had a fundraising spaghetti dinner at our church.  It was a free will offering and they also had a silent auction and buy now items.    I didn't need it, but couldn't stop myself from buying this Knifty Knitter for $1.
This is the same picture from my Wednesday post.  Since then my needle did come in that I ordered with a bit of my earned Amazon so I'm getting close to being able to take it off and finish it now.

Sunday is a blur, but we did go to the funeral home after church for the family viewing time for my hubby's aunt.
Monday was the funeral.  We had a nice visiting time with a nice lunch with his family afterwards.  A lot of his family that I had yet to meet.

Tuesday is always full with Bible study and bowling both on Tuesdays.

This week for online earnings I had:

My PerkTV account was taken care of and I was able to cash in for a total of $3 added to my PerkPlastik card.  (use code 860efbf6 for bonus points for signing up)

I sold 3 of the double towel scarves from my Etsy shop.  I still have 3 listed for sale.

I cashed in and rec'd a $5 Amazon from MyPoints.  It is very much faster to earn doing the daily 5 list each day!  I see that I can redeem for $3 Amazon for 480 points, so think I will do that from now on.

I did 2 short surveys with ShoppersVoice, each worth $1 Amazon.  Not sure where I signed up for this site.  I can't seem to log in to their actual site, I just do the surveys as they come into my email.

I rec'd $4.74 in paypal from Tweety-Fied Surf.   This is one of my most favorite traffic exchanges.  Pennies are easy to earn while you surf to earn credits for your sites to be seen, and she has so many fun games to keep you entertained while you surf too!!

I'm looking forward to doing a little coupon shopping this weekend with coupons that Dillon's sent to us in the mail.  My free coupon this time around is for a dozen eggs.  That will be a nice boost.  Others include cents off cheese and also cents off $2 or more in cheese, and even coupons for our Dr Pepper.

Thanks to Kyla for linking up last week.  I hope more of you will jump in and link in each Friday.

WIP Wednesday -- Oops I Did It Again

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I was in hopes of getting to finally trying to machine quilt that braided baby quilt but.......
I just couldn't help myself.  There was  Knifty Knitter rectangle at our church sale for just $1.
You guessed it, I started working with it instead.  I couldn't find my needle but have one coming in from Amazon.  I've just been making due with a yarn needle to pull over.

Last week I wrote about finishing things this week.  I did finish those double folded hotpads.  I also finished 7 of the double towel scarves.  One of those goes to my middle daughter.  The other 6 went into my Etsy shop.  Three sold right away, but there are 3 left including the one pictured here.

I completed one set of 2 of the microwave hotpads/cozies, 3 sets yet to finish up.

As always I am in hopes of getting things worked on each day this week!
